It was by an unmaintained strip of lilacs that acted as a property fence. Definitely had some invasive weeds but I suspect not watering them every day like the rest of my backyard killed them. I did need to dig up some Chinese elm saplings a few times, but I've had to do that on the rest of my property too

I wonder if it's location dependant? I threw some native wildflower seeds in half of my backyard just before winter set in and it grew into a mini meadow the next year without any further input from me. I didn't even water it

By the time this comic was published (12/19/1937), it was being distributed in thousands of newspapers. The original artist died the next year. It's possible this is from a book with a collection of Thimble Theater comics, the company that holds the copyright has made a few since then

Fwiw I don't see this comic on there but I found something else while looking:

Conservative political action conference

Orban was a guest speaker a couple years ago in the US. Seems like he founded the cpac in Hungary afterwards

I'm pretty sure that is a redbud tree, not cherry

McChicken is the only thing I get from McDonald's on the rare occasion I stop by in a road trip.

Gotta add pickles though

I don't disagree. I just find it interesting how strongly the media jumped on their connection but there may be another reason for the professor's death

It's interesting that Nuno Loureiro is part of this list. I thought the articles that came out after his death said the (now dead) man who killed him once worked with him. So it seemed personal and not conspiracy-related

Since day one, we have stood with the artist community against piracy, and we are actively working with our industry partners to protect creators and defend their rights.

Lmao. They protect and defend artist rights so hard they they've refused to pay a fair compensation, and have taken it further by promoting AI artists over actual artists. This statement is almost comical after it was reported that they've had copy cats to replace King Glizard and the Lizard Wizard when they pulled their albums from Spotify
