Note that it doesn't mean metadata is encrypted. They may not know what you sent, but they may very well know you message your mum twice a day and who your close friends are that you message often, that kinda stuff. There's a good bit you can do with metadata about messages combined with the data they gather through other services.

The question is, what are you doing to make a difference there? Are you going out and protesting, are you actively seeking out local politicians?

You're obviously passionate about the innocent people being hurt and killed, so I bet you are, but you could keep doing that while voting for the "lesser evil". You could have cast your vote for Harris and then on the same day gotten right back to protesting against her policy on the war.

You have two parties that are bad, but one is obviously worse. Why not try to avoid the worst option, so your personal efforts are more effective?

It's like trying to run a marathon and by abstaining to vote you get both your legs cut off instead of only one, because you fundamentally disagree with people getting their legs cut off. That's a totally sensible stance, but getting to keep a leg still makes it easier to keep running and there is no secret third option where you get to keep both.

With how absolutely entrenched the CDU is in our political system, this is about as bad as you could reasonably expect it to be. The CDU is an overall incredibly dominant party and the others are often competing for second place, which the AFD has gotten now. Them actually competing on that level is frankly terrifying.

I still have my HP laptop from a few years ago, and despite running like crap nowadays, it still manages to warm my legs through my desk

I mean, there's always your own, if you want to

I'd rather just have it working properly inside a browser, instead of it telling me that it has this neat cross-platform app, which turns out to just be Electron. On mobile that can be fine, but I dislike it on Desktop, personally.

Do excuse me if this is false, I have never actually worked with Electron on the developer side myself, however I don't believe it offers anything you couldn't do through a normally provided website. I know for example Discord only allows screen sharing in the desktop app, however I've also seen websites which allow screen sharing, so that seems more like an arbitrary restriction than anything. I mean, in the end it's just a dedicated Chromium install for one single website, so where is the need to force the website onto your pc?

Honestly, I'd say you shouldn't do that prompt method. The auto type is genuinely great for the use cases which Excel is supposed to be used for, from someone managing their household finances to charting the growth of a business.

By all means, it absolutely should make assumptions about your data by default, as that's incredibly convenient for the average user. You can always change the type of a cell afterwards if what you're doing is special.

That is not what it was made for. It was made to do shenanigans with values like doing math on them and plotting graphs. If you merely want data storage, use a table. I agree, a database is overkill for most things, but that doesn't change the fact that Excel is the wrong tool for the job. Maybe if they added a table mode where it's basically just a frontend for a csv it'd work, but right now I'd still say it's better to use a scalpel than a hammer, even if scissors do the trick just fine.

I initially wanted to go Manjaro, but was firmly discouraged. EndeavourOS was recommended as a more terminal-centric alternative. The looks here can be replicated on anything with KDE Plasma though, so there are a lot of other distros to choose from with which you can get this same look. Get the Dracula theme, make some new panels, and add widgets to your liking and you basically got what I have here :3
