You were evil/good for the last mission only or something close to it right? Other than that I do remember it being VERY short, and that some of the puzzles could be challenging first time around, but easy second time around.

In the relative short term, the answer is no. The US is too powerful relative to everyone else, this will likely not change until the EU becomes more of an equal than it currently is.
