The Nazis tainted everything they touched, I don't see why this should be any different. And yes, the comparison is apt.

Very few things in life are black and white - this is.

You either support genocide or you don't. You either support an increasingly fascistic apartheid ethnostate or you don't. Lines are notoriously difficult to draw but they're extremely clear cut here.

Israel and the Zionist project gains legitimacy by proximity to genuinely honorable people like the ones you brought up - it's rhetorical propaganda.

I appreciate I'm taking a strong stance in my wording here but for gods sake, man - look at the whole thing. A dying empire is dusting off old world colonialism, complete with unabashed ethnic cleansing and the entire Western world is to-the-hilt complicit. History and systemic decline is being written. I don't consider my language an overreaction - at all.

And there it is - the holocaust, an all-purpose shield and sword.

I stand by my statement and I doubt anyone honored via that program would endorse Israel today.

I dunno - mounting evidence seems to point to the hypothesis a few less imperialists wouldn't hurt.

No shit - we've had smoking guns for years. Add it to the pile or better yet, hold it and growl while we ask politely for change.

I had a friend once who said fascists just needed to "get it out of their system" when we were talking about the Boogaloo Boys a few days before the Jan6 insurrection. We're both queer - a week or so before we were talking about how mutual trans friends of ours were being bashed in our city and that was an explicitly bad thing - I had to realize they might have only cared because they knew them personally.

I was honestly stun-locked by the whole conversation and all the little implications it made.

Never felt safe around them after that.

When former partners came out saying they were an abuser, I knew they were right.

No tolerance for intolerance.

I'm not a programmer so I have no idea what's what, but the functionality of that sounds really cool and would serve really well to uphold the whole "social media as a decentralised, non-static web of communities" framework going on here

Yeah, damn - that cage match would have been one hell of a pay-per-view.

What a weird corporate hellscape we inhabit, lol.

Not for owners, for sure - but for prospective ones? The catalogue of possible games/uses is a bit thin for a 1k+ piece of kit... I think it would be incredible to own a HOTAS warthog but I'm not playing flying games very often right now, you know?

If I did, I probably would because at that point I want to enjoy the kit I have. Imo, that means right now, a flight sim controller set up due my use case is a bit of a gimmick - but if I already owned it I'd seek out things to utilise it, reducing its gimmicky position in 'the roster'.

Gimmicky is kind of a subjective term in that way, it's all about the individual utility offered.

But yeah - that comment was a bit snarky, I get that too.

It's not falling - it's diving.
