Thank you, this comment section has some of this cynisim already. Yes she's saying very eviden things but the other side is winning precisely by creating a culture of fear and overwhelming toxicity and locking you in echo chambers that eat at you by making you think their normal is The normal. It's not lying than to project what you want into the world until enough people are in on it and pressure bad elements into hiding or into changing path.
Right?? That's one of my favorite aspects, like there's a weird bug and you can kind of backtrack what happened like "Oh I wasn't supposed to jump out of the car I had to walk through the precise path, I missed the trigger or something I guess??"
I like how the title embraces the inevitable yet catastrophic nature of Uberisation (which is just privatization really). Like it comes for you, whether you want it or not. It leaves behind a trail of industries full of exploiteds and void of regulation, great phenomenon. You hear this nursing? It's coming for you. Firefighters? You betcha
I mean if you liked the game and enjoyed the developper's work I feel like that's worth paying them a coffee unless you truly hated it 😅
Overall good article with some inaccuracies but the answer to the articles question is to me an easy no. The whole industry won't recover because its an industry. It follows the rules of capitalism and its a constant race to the worse and while good games by good people happen on the side, they happen in spite of the system. Everything else is working as expected and will continue until you pay per minute to stream games you rent with intermittent forced ads and paid level unlocks.
The worst part is that often people telling you what milk should be or not don't even know how the milk they drink is made or where it comes from. The number of non vegan people who think cows "just make milk" all the time for free and that it's carefully harvested by a dude while rubbing her back when the reality is so drastically more horrifying.
He's also the piece of shit behind Jeepers Creepers which is why despite them being okay horror movies nobody brings them up anymore
And this isn't even to scale that's when it gets even sadder
Transistor at ~4€ is great, I've been meaning to dig into the dev's older games after Hades since it looks like they're all of the same quality
Really well done! Much better to browse than browse.feddit.de I just wish you could "login" and hide the communities you're already subscribed to :p

I really recommend Lunacid mentioned in the article from the dev doing this, it's really an amazing retro dungeon crawler with lots of great horror touches since it's the same dev as Lost in Vivo and such.
