Ms Carroll, 80, told ABC News on Monday: "I'd like to give the money to something Donald Trump hates.

"If it will cause him pain for me to give money to certain things, that's my intent."

The former magazine columnist suggested the money could be used to set up a "fund for the women who have been sexually assaulted by Donald Trump".

"fund for the women who have been sexually assaulted by Donald Trump".

It should be a civil lawsuit fund. Pay the legal bills for other women to launch civil lawsuits against him. Bury the fucker.

Oh this is a much better idea. I was thinking like... vegetables? But now I hope for your thing instead:-).

[-] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 20 points 9 months ago

I was thinking build a windmill next to maralago.

[-] OpenStars@startrek.website 8 points 9 months ago

Oooh not bad - username does not check out in this case!:-)

A non-profit that handles lawsuits where powerful men have grabbed women by the pussy

I'd donate to that cause

[-] zzzz@lemmy.world 69 points 9 months ago

I suggest spending it on additional defamation lawsuits against Donald Trump.

[-] girlfreddy@lemmy.ca 24 points 9 months ago

I like her idea better. Helping others would definitely piss him off.

;)

[-] zzzz@lemmy.world 11 points 9 months ago

I doubt it. I don't think information that doesn't involve him directly even enters into his awareness.

[-] tacosplease@lemmy.world 13 points 9 months ago

Helping others sue him on the other hand...

[-] n3m37h@sh.itjust.works 4 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Give it to mexico, would piss him off more than anything. They have this real bad ~~cocaine~~ sugar problem and need to get it out... Or so Ive heard... From a ~~friend~~ neighbour...

On a serious note, getting mexicans across the border to get citizenship would give him a heart attack

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 4 points 9 months ago

Anything that hurts Donald Trump financially is helping others.

[-] IchNichtenLichten@lemmy.world 39 points 9 months ago

A smart move would be to spend on a get out the vote effort in swing states.

[-] rusticus@lemm.ee 10 points 9 months ago

Especially mail in ballots

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 months ago

Hire armed guards to guard the ballot boxes from armed 2A nutjobs

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Absolutely this. I hope she does it.

[-] magnetosphere@kbin.social 26 points 9 months ago

Planned Parenthood and the ACLU

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 6 points 9 months ago

I don't think Trump actually has opinions on those organizations because they don't affect him personally. To him they're names he can mention to rile up his cult.

[-] 58008@lemmy.world 23 points 9 months ago

Donald thinks I'm a complete cunt, wouldn't piss on me if I were on fire atop Obama's presidential bed in a Russian hotel. He considers me to be worse than Hunter Biden's laptop.

Just saying.

[-] skulblaka@startrek.website 7 points 9 months ago

Can confirm; this guy is a real asshole. Just, really, fuck this guy. ~~because he got here first to say this~~

[-] ZhaoYadang@lemmy.world 16 points 9 months ago
[-] Steve@startrek.website 19 points 9 months ago

How many could she buy?

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 14 points 9 months ago

Trump probably doesn't actually hate anything... His crippling narcissism would stop him from focusing on something else long enough to hate it. He's an opportunist that repeats what he's told to publicly discourage by his handlers, but he couldn't tell you the things he "hated" yesterday.

Just ask the last guy he spoke to what they hate and you'll find it

[-] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 9 points 9 months ago

The Biden campaign.

[-] jenny_ball@lemmy.world 9 points 9 months ago

is she actually going to get the money?

[-] d00phy@lemmy.world 17 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

If he loses the appeal, I believe she will. He has to put 120% of the award in escrow with the court while the appeal process unfolds. The extra is actually for interest and fees, so if the appeal takes awhile, she might actually get more (if I’m understanding that correctly)!

[-] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 7 points 9 months ago

He has to put 120% of the award in escrow with the court while the appeal process unfolds.

That's a very important part of the process. It does 2 things.

1: makes sure the victim can actually get the money at the end of the process.

2: prevents pointless appeals that have zero chance of success. Or at least makes the appealer think about the implications of losing a frivolous appeal.

[-] neptune@dmv.social 7 points 9 months ago

A million dollar donation to any Democrat in a close race.

[-] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 5 points 9 months ago

On something he hates?

That’s… just a lot of salad, I’m not sure how much salad that can buy.

[-] littlebluespark@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Um, maybe she could try to:

"Blunt the knives, bend the forks

Smash the bottles and burn the corks

Chip the glasses and crack the plates..."

🤷🏼‍♂️

[-] schnapsman@feddit.de 4 points 9 months ago

I like her sentiment, but it sounds to me like the guy is living rent free in her head. Just spend the money on something that brings you meaning and makes the world a slightly nicer place for others.

[-] CeruleanRuin@lemmy.world 27 points 9 months ago

Imagine telling a rape victim that her rapist is "living rent free in her head". Phase that moronic cliche out of your vocabulary. It makes you sound like a dumbass.

[-] morphballganon@lemmy.world 21 points 9 months ago

Turnip Dump has been living rent free in the heads of every decent American since his presidency. If you weren't outraged at his bullshit, you lack a moral compass.

[-] orbitz@lemmy.ca 9 points 9 months ago

Yes this, it's absurd he's a frontrunner in what is essentially a two party system. As someone in a neighboring country, the impact a US president has on the world at large is scary. Like he could be commander in chief of the world's largest military...again? There was too much anxiety for his first term, of course people think about what he'll do in a second term and not just because of domestic issues. He disbanded the pandemic team that could have had a huge impact on COVID, that alone should tell people to be concerned. Of course we'll never know if it did but it'd be nice to know what that difference would have made, cause it wouldn't have been worse for sure.

[-] schnapsman@feddit.de 1 points 9 months ago

I'm as outraged as anyone. Just thought it might help the healing process for her to try and focus the money elsewhere.

[-] WeeSheep@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

I hope you lose everything you have so that someone can come along and tell you "Just look at the bright side, stop focusing on the negative all the time. Pull yourself up from your bootstraps! If you had a better attitude you could get your life back together."

Insensitive clueless post of the year.

[-] totallynotarobot@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

What a condescendingly shitty take.

[-] drmeanfeel@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

The fact that you're a terrible person aside, one of the things she mentioned is a fund for other victims of his assaults, which would bring her meaning and make the world a nicer place for others, but that requires reading the article. Saying someone's rapist is living rent free in their head within days of a court verdict about the rape though, fucking trash tier humanity

I hope whatever made you this way gets better

[-] schnapsman@feddit.de 1 points 9 months ago

Thanks for your input. I think with my comment I was just coming from a place of wanting to not give that POS any blip of additional attention than what he's already taken. I find revenge sort of exhausting and I would wish, especially for her, that she finds a way to think about him less. She's inspired a creative exercise in trying to come up with what would annoy a monster the most. Of course it's all things which would make the world a better place as well. I was trying to think of a way to do that without invoking that asshole. Admittedly I chose my words terribly, but maybe others got a rise calling me horrible things and standing up for what's right, so I've left it up. Keep fighting the good fight.

Rosie O'Donnell doesn't need the money though...
