Where did we learn this canon fact?

[-] MajorHavoc@lemmy.world 51 points 1 year ago

Besides the dual stream confirmation in Discovery, I believe it's in Enterprise that we first learn that Klingons have two of every organ.

And I believe I recall a throw away line of confirmation (of the double organs) in Picard.

I'm honestly surprised if Lower Decks hasn't dealt with the topic yet.

Lower Decks did, in one of the earlier seasons. The episode with the visiting drill instructor Tendi has a test where she has to give a Klingon an honorable death. She fails and her holo-assistants also fail to kill the Klingon because of all the backup organs

Awesome. I figured Lower Decks would be all over this. Their creative team has amazingly strong knowledge of Trek lore.

The two of evey internal organ is accepted, I think we're specifically discussing two penises

Klingons have two of every organ.

The Skin is an organ, not just an organ but the largest organ.

[-] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 year ago

That explains the facial folds.

[-] Spendrill@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

And also why mother Klingons carry their young by gripping the loose skin on the back of their necks... no wait, I'm confusing Klingons with something else, aren't I?

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Not canon, but there was a fan theory that the changes occurred after the tribbles were transported aboard the Klingon ship in TOS.

"Klingons are like onions."

"You mean they smell bad?"

There's a scene in Disco that heavily implies it, where we see the silhouette of a Klingon drainin' the lizard and there are two distinct streams.

But, hey, maybe they just woke up or something.

Maybe they have just two urethra, rather than two complete sets?

So that dude from Reddit with two dicks is really just half Klingon?

It's one of those fakes that I really, really wanted to be true. Because I wanted to see that shit in person. Or at least, in porn.

Oh, imagine the porn that could've been. What a loss for society.

[-] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago

If we survive as a species, the chances of that exact attribute being developed is greater than zero.

*cannon

It's in the title of the post. Canon would be if something would be verified in the Star Trek universe. Which this is, sure, but think about it: it's much more likely to be a comment on the girth and power of Klingon instruments

[-] TheAlbatross 13 points 1 year ago

I think the joke is more about how the Chinook helicopter has two sets of rotors.

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 2 points 1 year ago

Would've been better to say Blackhawk instead of helicopter. I would've gotten the joke a lot faster, at least.

[-] Hobbes@startrek.website 13 points 1 year ago

I don't think you've gotten it yet actually :)

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 4 points 1 year ago

One rotor vs two, human anatomy vs Klingon?
