Knowing when you’re in over your head, completely stressed out, and will not be able to do the job required is probably one of the most adult things you can do.

For those that don't know she was mayor of a town of 1,500 people. Generally places of this size aren't paying someone enough for it to be a full time job.

This article has a good chart for BC with population and mayor's salaries.

those that don’t

For those who don't know, who/qui is used here and not that/que. The latter form objectifies people, which some find insulting.

Her Ice Town project was promising, though

Elle est tout de même devenu mairesse à 21 ans, je pense pas qu'on peut la blamer d'avoir fait un burnout après un giga problème de feux de forêt. Elle a fait sa part!

...."burnout"

Edit: I'm drawing attention to the title. If you're offended by the joke, be mad at OP, the one who, you know, made the joke.

Was that supposed to be a joke related to the forest fires?

[-] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

I'm drawing attention to the post title, which was either a deliberate joke or a very oblivious mistake.

[-] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

Not a joke unfortunately. But I see how you could interpret it that way.

[-] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

So it's the second possibility I mentioned.
