So, not twins in the biological sense then? Is it not so that a fertilised egg must split and then two babies develop from that one egg for them to become twins? This is two separate eggs being fertilised from different men in a short time frame. All they have done is share the womb.

[-] skorn@ani.social 6 points 2 hours ago

Fraternal vs identical twins.

so how many different women did this happen to? this ai crap will not end well...

also, if we take the image at face value, did they really need dna test to determine the kids do not have same father? 😂

I've heard of this way before AI was a thing.

And rare thing happens often, if the sample size is large enough. Only every milionth person would still be 8000 people on the world.

[-] Maeve@kbin.earth 9 points 7 hours ago

There are instances of two different dna samples in one person, so don't. Also, white babies can be born to black women and black babies to white women.

[-] bss03@infosec.pub 2 points 9 hours ago

What's the cut-off for "nature"? I mean, it's not like DNA tests grow wild on the PCR plains, and it seems to me that the DNA test was the "tattle tale".

[-] NeatNit@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 hours ago

I thought the same thing for about 3 seconds. Look at the photo. There is a natural dead giveaway that these two babies don't have the same dad.

[-] LSNLDN@slrpnk.net 55 points 18 hours ago

Having a half twin brother is wild

[-] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

She appears to be a hirsutely-eyebrowed lass.

[-] Lumidaub@feddit.org 1 points 5 hours ago

... because you can see her eyebrows...?? I thought we were past that.

I googled it so you don't have to: The story is true, but there are a lot of fake pictures. I don't know if these pictures are genuine.

[-] wezzzy 12 points 19 hours ago

A true survice thanks :)

That's my "I'm being lifted by the nut sack" face, too.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

I hate it when that happens.

[-] Redditmodstouchgrass@lemmy.zip 20 points 19 hours ago

What's the matter, Mcfly?

[-] Dookieman12@piefed.social 111 points 23 hours ago

Also, just want to point out that the ovulation period is only 24-48 hours. Make of that what you will.

[-] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 75 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

Yes, but sperm live for up to five days in the female reproductive tract. With the ~~48~~ 12-24 hour ovulation, the combined window is 7 days.

Two days or seven days, your slut shaming is not necessary.

[-] socsa@piefed.social 2 points 1 hour ago

I'm not shaming her for being a slut, I'm shaming her for being so basic she can't use birth control properly

[-] cuerdo@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

I think he was slut contextualizing

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

You're the one who brought up "slut shaming", hmmm, reach your own conclusions, friends.

Primus~ "Make of that what you will."

You~ "Slut". You made it slut. Only you.

[-] Tenniswaffles 1 points 5 hours ago

Are you unfamiliar with the concept of an implication? Within the common cultural context of the English speaking internet, the implication of that statement is very clear. And just making that implication, is in of itself a judgement.

For example: "you would look good in some cement shoes" without cultural context, that doesn't imply very much. With the cultural context/understanding that many of us have, that's a death threat.

Also known by the less common shorthand of brother

Pro move, honestly. Otherwise it can be really hard telling which of your twins is which.
