The millionaire parents of whiny top DSA leader Gustavo Gordillo have set up their socialist son in a $1.5 million Brooklyn home — where he lives while railing against the rich and property ownership, The Post has learned.

I don't own a parakeet, so I don't need something to line the litter tray with. Therefore, I have no use for the slimy Murdoch mouthpiece NY Post.

Your ignorance is showing.

This is a typical price for housing in NYC, because of predatory real estate practices driven by hedge funds like Blackrock.

You can be financially successful in a capitalist society and still be a socialist. You can acknowledge that whatever wealth you’ve accumulated was the result of exploitation, good fortune, outside help via infrastructure and the support of others. Many socialists are educated intelligentsia who see through the illusion and use their resources to fight for human rights.

And living in a 1.5 million-dollar house is a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the wealth the Epstein class has accumulated.

Yep. You have to live in the world as it is, even as you try to make a better one.

Karl Marx played the stockmarket and Engels was a factory owner. So what?

You should stop deleting your posts that you get downvoted for that way you can actually learn something

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago

That seems unlikely.

This is do fucking dumb. Just a regular house in Brooklyn is worth nearly a million.

Hell, here a an empty lot for 1.1 million

[-] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 4 points 20 hours ago

That's not a lot. It's just a decent sized back yard for the place next to it.

[-] thallamabond@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

While I agree, I must point out, in dense populated areas you often pay per square foot for land.

...Gordillo, who listed the LES one-bed, one-bath as his primary residence at that time...

So, he's rich because he lives in a one-bed, one-bath home? What, because it costs $1.5M? Inflation doesn't make everyone rich. It doesn't work that way.

An immigrant from Peru, Gordillo grew up in South Florida with his parents, who ended up thriving in America.

And now he wants everyone in America to thrive. What a guy.

There's this idea that socialists want everyone to be poor and miserable, and that we're opposed to prosperity. It's horse shit. What we want is for everyone to thrive and prosper as much as possible, instead of only a relatively small number of people receiving most of the benefits of economic prosperity.

Only 1.5 million in NYC? Does he live in a shack?

[-] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 16 points 21 hours ago

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 hours ago

use a huge mainstream media publication

The Post is too scummy to be regarded as mainstream. It's a gutter tabloid.

"Mainstream" in the media was a term that newspapers and tv stations created to tell reporters to get more than just white people points of view in their story/photos/video.

How weird that term has been wrung out over the years.

I'm not going to spend effort going after the millionaires, it takes 1000 millionaires to make one billionaire

[-] twistypencil@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago

Lol, look at that picture of his home... It's by no means a mansion. Bed Study at that price is not getting you much

[-] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 11 points 21 hours ago

"You're going about your cause all wrong." Says person (news? Org) who wants your cause to fail.

The NYP is a garbage rag that intentionally leaves out pertinent info

[-] SayJess 6 points 20 hours ago

Why are NYPost links allowed? Might as well post Fox News’ partisan bullshit as well.

I don’t think we need to state the policy and fiscal ideology of the DSA on the left leaning digital space that makes up a significant portion of Lemmy.

The post will print anything their owners tell them to, regardless of integrity, rigor, or truth.

We all know that the billionaires are pressing their bought and paid for politicians to smear the DSA in any way they can. The dem establishment is scared, and are willing to stoop to the level of the republicans in order to maintain their controlled opposition. They’re relying on the general populace being too stupid and lazy to seek out what the DSA actually advocates for.

Shame on @LT_Columbo@feddit.online for posting this garbage. You are an unscrupulous class traitor. Do better.
