It's not just Flock: https://deflock.org/identify

Any cities dropping Flock may well just switch to a similar vendor doing the same thing.

and where most of those flock cameras are aiming at, it aint in rich neighborhoods, or actual main roads. its aimed at low income areas, parks, etc.

Maybe paid for by massive ICE budget??

Sucks we can't build sidewalks, curbs, any part of a train, or green energy to do anything that's not an atrocity.

But that's communism like what China has and they have cameras watching every person's waking moment. We can't have that

Indeed, China does all those good things, plus the surveillance state on top. In Shenzen for example there is apparently hardly a public space left in the city not covered by face detection and people tracking cameras.

I don't know if you'd be willing to up your commute time for it, but the deflock website has a map tab that builds a route avoiding flock cameras.

edit: it links to a separate app/website

Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) are AI-powered cameras that capture and analyze images of all passing vehicles, storing details like your car’s location, date, and time. They also capture your car’s make, model, color, and identifying features such as dents, roof racks, and bumper stickers, often turning these into searchable data points. These cameras collect data on millions of vehicles—regardless of whether the driver is suspected of a crime. While these systems can be useful for tracking stolen cars or wanted individuals, they are mostly used to track the movements of innocent people.
