Cart Narcs parking only!

[-] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 41 points 3 days ago

"Our business has SO MUCH CRIME INSIDE that the police have special parking" is not a message that makes me want to come inside.

[-] HCSOThrowaway@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Wal-Mart was a huge generator of calls for service in my patrol area, so much so that our county government had hash things out over multiple meetings and eventually write an MOU with them to stop calling us over $20 shoplifting cases.

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I'm doing my part!

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 25 points 2 days ago

I will judge you if you don't return your shopping cart to the proper place. This seems to be a proper place.

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 45 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

If you're a police officer or military veteran and you need a special parking spot it's because your handicapped.

Otherwise you can fucking walk like everyone else.

You're not special. Special people aren't regularly put in dangerous situations for relatively low pay.

Top 10 most dangerous jobs in the U.S. according to Forbes:

  1. Logging Workers
  2. Fishing and Hunting Workers
  3. Roofers
  4. Aircraft Pilots and Flight Engineers
  5. Structural Iron and Steel Workers
  6. Delivery and Truck Drivers
  7. Refuse and Recyclable Material Collectors
  8. Underground Mining Machine Operators
  9. Construction Trade Workers
  10. Electrical Power-line Installers and Repairers

I'm know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it's good info to be familiar with when some knuckle dragging MAGA hat pretends to be patriotic.

Notice that law enforcement overseers and military are not on this list. Moreover, LEOs often get paid MUCH better than many of the people employed at some of the jobs listed above. It's also a pretty safe bet these days that if an American police officer is in a dangerous situation, they are the danger. I'm all for respecting people that choose dangerous careers, but police and veterans are not heros for making that choice any more than any of the others on this list.

OSHA has a similar list, no police either.

USA Today has a top 25 list, still no police.

[-] AniZaeger@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I'm shocked firefighters aren't on that list, though I'm sure they're still higher up on that list than cops will ever be.

[-] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

Damn, I don't want to be my handicapped.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 18 points 3 days ago

I don't endorse not putting your cart back usually... But yeah, this is alright.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

The cart return locations (pictured above) are back enough

[-] Widdershins@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago

That sign does not look bolted down. 3 youths with a skateboard could recreate Iwo Jima and move it somewhere less convenient like at the bottom of a lake or wherever cops like to park and hide to print speeding tickets.

[-] makeshift0546@lemmy.today 15 points 3 days ago

I love this and will contribute to it going forward.

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

The Walton family is certainly one of humanity's greatest enemies.

Wealthiest family in the world funded entirely by underpaying it's workers.

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Absolutely, and they are undoubtedly one of the key players responsible for the global resurgence of fascism—for example, in the form of the current U.S. regime, but at the same time also in other countries, first and foremost Israel, but also in Europe, and in every remaining democracy. Their unlimited resources make this possible, and they want more and more.

As I said: These are humanity’s worst enemies.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Yup. Them and the Murdoch family. Cancers on our civilization and enemies to the inhabitants of Earth.

And clearly we can add the Trump family to the list as well.

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

You could actually list every billionaire in the world. It’s simply impossible to become that absurdly rich without getting involved in these schemes. They all know each other and would never allow anyone who was even remotely decent to rise to their level.

I used to counter this argument with Paul McCartney, but it turns out he's been something of a cunt his whole life as well.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Yeah I don't like breaking that one to people

Rupert Murdoch is so old that his fucking dad (not grandfather or great-grandfather) orchestrated a successful smear campaign against Australia's best general during WWI, over a century ago. Reason: the general was Jewish.

[-] Wren@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago

Looks like people are doing the same thing to the handicapped spot behind it. The locals are chaotic and have no gods.

[-] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

We don't have parking for the police in Canada. But we do have parking for pregnant women, and disabled people. Plus, the grocery store I use has a solution for the carts.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

We kind of have parking for the pregunte here in statesia. It's not a legal restriction so anyone can park there, but some lots "reserve" the spaces.

They're very helpful when the handicap spots are full

[-] hefty4871@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 days ago

There is reserved police parking at Fairview Mall in Toronto, Ontario .

[-] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago
[-] djdarren@piefed.social 2 points 2 days ago

I see no evidence of lazy bones activity.

[-] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

If I was a minimum wage worker and had to work 30 minutes more at night putting those shopping carts in their place, I would be annoyed until I get home but then be fine with it.

I always park in the "Online Pickup" or "Coffee Customer" or "Uber Eats" spots.

Fuck you. I'm spending money at your store.

I remember one parking lot had a parking lot Nazi. When I parked in one of the Uber Eats spots he came up and said "I don't see any sticker indicating you work for one of the pickup apps. I said I didn't. He said I had to move. I said "Let's see if you can get a tow truck here before I get back out and leave" and walked inside. Got in and out quick and left. No tow truck in sight.

Edit: Lot of corpo-cucks in here who want to spend time circling a parking lot waiting for a spot to open up so they can go in and spend money while 5 spots labeled "Uber Eats Parking Only" sit unused. Slurp that corpo-cock.

[-] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

...and everyone clapped, right?

Larp on reddit.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Is everything that bothers you LARPing?

Is it that hard to wrap your smooth brain around a pretty believable scenario? I'm sure a lot of people have done what I did to parking Nazis. You just don't go outside, so you wouldn't know.

Not that I give a fuck whether some kid living in their parent's house believes me, but it definitely happened. Maybe you're just such a subservient pussy who can't fathom standing up to someone.

[-] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Lol. Lmao, even. The hero is needlessly aggressive to a person upholding the social contract. The clapping is coming from inside your head and under your desk.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I'm not the dipshit accusing people of making up a totally normal story because I have some free time between my mother giving me a bath and making me dinner.

The only thing you're upholding is a lower national average IQ. And the only thing making noise under my desk is your mother.

We should show a little respect for our heroes in blue and not do things like this.

[-] felsiq@piefed.zip 15 points 3 days ago

You mean the Walmart employees who have to grab the carts, right?

[-] athatet@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

It’s okay. Cop parking is usually closer than the cart corrals anyway.

[-] gandalf_der_13te@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

eh i remember when a bank robber who stole $100 got 20 years in prison (because it was bank robbery) meanwhile a cop who shot an unarmed innocent civilian got away with a fine.

the cops are not there to protect you, they're there to protect the banks.

[-] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

A police offers time is something like 0.001% catching an actual criminal and 99.999% larping military action and harassing/threatening normal people. Sometimes its even misusing public funds to commit murder or stalk their ex. Theyre also much more likely to be domestically abusive.

"All cops are bastards" because the system is broken, allowing most cops to be bastards, and therefore participating in the system (even being a "good cop") makes you, a bastard.

Am i calling the police if someone breaks into my house? Yes, after ive done all the work of removing the threat so i have a legal standpoint to file insurance claims or whatever. Thats the problem with the system. I cant trust a cop to not consider me to be the real threat or shoot me by accident.

There is no situation made safer by having a racist coward with a license to kill involved.

[-] MrChewy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Enforcement of a good government is arguably good, enforcement of a bad government is unarguably bad They're more like villain's henchmen than heroes in the current state of things
