I heard a report on NPR that food inflation was stable because lettuce prices have plummeted.

:/

[-] howrar@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

So, is this Trump technically fulfilling his campaign promise of lowering egg prices?

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Can't complain about egg prices if you can't buy eggs.

[-] uriel238 18 points 2 days ago

Didn't US voters choose Trump allegedly because of the egg prices?

Well, I guess they still got all the racism.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

They had the benefit of the doubt in 2016.

In 2024 his voters were just racists and nothing more. "NPC" was Republican projection too.

[-] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

I'm sorry, what the fuck happened to garlic powder???

[-] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago

It makes vampires nervous, so the Republicans won't have any of it.

They promised cheaper eggs but did they promise healthy eggs?

[-] 87Six@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

First get your population sick with food made for cockroaches, then charge them thousands to heal themselves.

A perfect system, really.

Elect Rapepublicans, get a sicker, poorer, and globally hated America.

[-] DarkSpectrum@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Hate is a strong word, but in this case, not strong enough. Despise, loathe, lament.. Idk so many options

Lots of American food is actually banned in the rest of the world, especially the EU.

Good thing the US has a great healthcare system.

[-] skisnow@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 days ago

I saw a thread recently with Americans discussing who washes their chicken in the sink before cooking it, which is a concept I'd literally never even heard of in Europe.

[-] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

That's not a thing most Americans do, just an fyi.

Chicken production is horrible everywhere, but in USA it is next level disgusting.

Besides the chlorine treatment, which they have to do because the production is unsanitary, they also ship the frozen chicken to China, where it's chopped up, only to be send back to USA, still frozen. Trump was angry with UK not wanting to import it.

It makes no sense that sending a frozen chemical shit chicken all over the world, should somehow be better or cheaper than simply raising a chicken in Europe and just chopping the head off.

Eggs and groceries were a symbol for the election of Trump

Now groceries are expensive and eggs are dangerous to eat

[-] imvii@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

And Trump is in the catering cart at the airport chowing down.

The more news about RFK Jr. I see, the more convinced I am that the brain worm is not only alive and well but possibly in control of what this guy does. I know it sounds stupid, but if brain parasites could hold public office, it would look like this.

I suppose its technically a nationwide recall, but it seems like there are only a handful of States impacted at least.
