Yeah gimp has always been on like this cusp of being really good. I'm not sure if it needs to be forked or a full rewrite or just more funding. I know the biggest complaint has been the transition although that's a tough egg to crack. It shouldn't be a Photoshop clone but also not so dissimilar from industry norms.

But cancer like coffee or cancer like strong ionizing radiation?

I think the awareness depression / discontent thing is like the dunning kruger curve. That is the unaware are mostly content, as someone becomes aware they become increasingly discontent, often falling into some sort of nihilistic depression, then as one continues past that point in awareness they grow increasingly towards being content and feelings of internal wellbeing. This is a generalized statement, some follow very different curves.

Security through obscurity is a very valuable lesson. It's the king who rules in public who gets his head chopped off. This is why some find these more public personas to be placeholders for the real movers and shakers. If one stays out of the limelight they can weather changes and maintain control.

Dems have been mostly impotent, and same to their voting base, particularly this last election. They seriously have a fetish for shooting themselves in the foot the past decade. For better and mostly worse the right has been very unified and a strong base. All that said I'm personally quite disenchanted with both parties.

My dream is a science based system in which all policies are tested to see if they increase the HDI, GDPPP, and decreasing environmental impact or some optimization of those three. Similar to science it would be in perpetual revision whenever there's sufficient evidence to infer a policy or structure is no longer operating or operating as well as another. One can dream, for better or worse nearly all nations right now are enslaved by the political beliefs of people long dead.

I mean so are social networks mostly and most search engines and so on. Name of the game is to provide a service to gain people's attention to serve them ads and / or collect their data. Either that or you pay for it up front and they still serve ads and collect your data.

I mean there's almost no secret sauce about these AI's currently which is why open source models are nearly as good. We are totally free to set up a nonprofit kinda like Wikipedia where people donate to train and run AI models for the public based on open source datasets. We're now seeing people like PewDiePie kinda getting the ball rolling.

I mean we are glazing over the massive fact that they've controlled the house and the Senate as well. A president who doesn't would likely face immediate and harsh backlash otherwise.

We didn't really have money for games. Instead of pokemon red or blue, I got pokemon green in Japanese and just had to figure it out. Apparently it was cheap at the pawnshop.

So true, sidebar I could have sworn I've heard Twonk before. Looked it up and got this.

Twonk is a mild, humorous British slang term used to describe a foolish or silly person. It is typically used in friendly banter among mates to refer to someone who has done something a bit thoughtless or clueless, but not necessarily malicious.

I really can't confirm if it's legitimate though.
