I've already decided not to get GTA6, a game that has shown no gameplay at all yet. And if I do, it'll be on PC, no reason to get a digital only title on a locked down system.

It's because they weren't exposed to the writings of Richard Stallman early enough in life.

When is early enough in life? Why is it too late at any point in life?

This whole "gamer outrage" has to be manufactured for clicks right? Surely there's not that many people that would get outraged that they will see a goddamn TRAILER 6 hours after other people. I mean fuck Rockstar for pulling this shit, but this whole thing reeks of ragebait.

It's a yongyea video. Of course it's rage bait.

Also, I wonder if this is how Rockstar will generate press now. They used to rely on news screaming about a a torture scene, or prostitution being in the game. Now it's about getting the influencers riled up, and it's easy to do that with something stupid like this.

I agree but you're not going to change many minds by calling people cattle and dehumanising them.

I stopped caring about gta with san Andreas. Both GTA IV and V where huge disappointments. I'm sure VI will be incredibly bland too.

[-] PeroBasta@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago

Nah, you may have not liked them but they were both great.

Same. I'm also on Linux, and knowing them they'll add something that will break on Linux.

Unfortunately lots of people seem happy to trade convenience and privacy for content. I have a friend who has Amazon and I'm always annoyed that he has adverts on there despite the fact he actually pays for it! I pirate everything these days and he doesn't particularly have any objections but streaming services are just too easy I think. He is very tech literate too, just can't be bothered to do something else.

Big games seem to just get worse and worse these days. Graphics are almost the only thing that seem to be getting better, the rest is just full of shit like microtransactions, games full of bugs on release, content specifically partitioned off just to sell to people later....I much prefer indie and (not sure what the right term is) games that are maybe not super popular but still have enough backing and talent to be good.

This situation just advocates in favor of piracy. So I'm totally in favor.
