If they're going to Singapore, do tell them because bringing durian on public transport can get you in trouble. I think it's just a fine and not a caning but still.

Not singapore but I am very serious about not allowing them to disgrace themselves in any way abroad. Too used to visiting hitler countries. Could be bad. Im nervous

Do not surprise anyone with a durian. Warn them: it will either taste like warm creamy ice cream or a sock filled with spoiled onions.

There is no in between and its like surprising someone with ghost peppers: the surprise is not appreciated.
