The two things that are "worse" are that it uses inside out tracking and WiFi 7 for streaming from a pc instead of using base stations and a tether cable. The displays and optics are both straight upgrades and honestly having used a quest 3 I think the inside out tracking and wireless connection are really important for room scale QOL. I imagine the tradeoffs for ease of setup and portability are probably worth it. You're probably losing sub millimeter precision and a couple milliseconds of latency at most. The unit also weighs like half as much as the Index, and neck strain is real.
