Well, I dunno about this one. Ownership of master recordings and royalty agreements are a serious issue in the music industry. Bands and musicians having to make a new recording of their own songs as a way to get royalties (as in any at all) for streaming isn't unheard of. And it's something that goes back longer than streaming.
So what he's saying here (my take on what you quoted) is he's using AI to modify his own new recording of his own song to more closely resemble the recording that some other entity has control over. Honestly I don't mind that.
