I just saw these advertised in my inbox yesterday, I was surprised to see them again here!

I'm not sure what I'd do with them though, I think they'd look too unflattering/masculine on me for my taste. But I really like the embroidery and laced sides. Maybe a top with laces could pull the outfit together? Or one of those tops with extra straps, my favourite are the ones that make a pentagram out of them 😈

I feel like just a T-shirt would work too, for a more casual and less "goth" look. Personally I'm trying to get away from them because I used to wear them too much and I'm leaning towards more feminine clothing these days, but I think something like a band shirt could match the vibe of these shorts as well, if you're into that sort of thing.

I would cut them shorter as that length is terrible on my body type. Then I’d pair them with some high top Vans, a ratty band t-shirt tucked in the front of the shorts a little, and a black and white flannel.

Yeah, long and a high waist wouldn't work for me at all.

Gimme hotpants any day, though, and I'll rock 'em :-)

I envy everyone who can pull them off haha. Short inseams look...off on me? Summer's rough for me because short shorts make my hips look narrower and I'm also like 90% leg because of my height.

I think I look really good in hiking shorts and high-waisted linen shorts, but moreso in a camp counselor kind of way, and I also wanna pull off an alt look too without boiling in jeans. Someday I'll figure it out!

Yeah, they don't work for everyone ... lots of other shorts combos make me look frumpy though, lol.

For you, how about Capri pants in linen?

If you don't want short shorts or to look like a youth leader, then maybe lycra shorts would work. I have to be careful picking them though, because of camel toe issues :-/

Love those ideas! Lycra shorts + old band tees/tanks are great when I go jogging.

Thinking about what works with my linen and hiking shorts, I think it's the high waist and the wide leg so it's still leggy (but like 75% leg instead of 90%), but creates an hourglass shape around the hips.

Cutoffs tend to be really form-fitting, so maybe I need to find a pair of denim shorts with a wide leg. Maybe I'll still look like a camp counselor after that, but screw it. Goth camp counselor. 🐈‍⬛ ⛺

Well, good luck in your shorts adventure o7

Love these shorts! Hate the high cut waist! If I could get them adjusted to a lower or wear them a size or two big so I could let them sag, I’d wear them. I just can’t do the high cut, I much prefer a low rise.

I’d probably wear with one of my nerdy shirts, either my “LeVar Burton says read banned books” or my “PBS is Punk” blue tie dye shirt. I’d wear a pair of dark/black sneakers and some shiny silver dangly earrings.

This has been a really thought-provoking style thread! Definitely a tough garment -- I really gave c/WomensStuff a challenge with this one.

Casual t-shirts, but especially with designs, seems to be the pairing. Crop tops too, but I could never pull that off! And the shorts/boots look doesn't always work, but I think a pair of Docs would work here too.
