I am starting to downvote these posts. I know what an asshole like Bezos would say if asked, then a good-for-nothing tech press guy asks AND you give him a platform on Lemmy.
There is no valuable analysis or any collateral reporting that makes this other than self-inflicted propaganda.
I agree with your sentiment but I like these posts for a strategic reason: Bezos intends for his statements to bolster support, but his strategy is falling flat. Support for AI is either level or declining, and anger over its harm is growing. Bezos reveals the extent to which he is out-of-touch. I think his statements actually inflame opposition to AI: his propaganda is motivating his opponents while leaving his supporters indifferent. When I upvote Bezos quotes, I am thinking to myself, 'hey everybody, get a load of this asshole!' I am definitely not upvoting him because I think his claims have merit or that they will convert people to support AI.
I feel like the fact that Bezos himself is out here arguing means that he's losing.
He isn't losing though. Him and his fellow oligarchs have never been so rich and influential.
I know. But he's trying to do damage control. He's aware of how he's perceived, and he's worried.
Or he just believes he's so important and special that everyone needs to hear his special genius thoughts.

Strange how a man who stands to make billions more from this, thinks all those opposed to it are wrong.
Guessing it’s due to his vast and deep knowledge of the subject, after long and careful scientific and sociologic research.
Nothing will change until they fear for their lives.
Just wanted to throw down the reminder that health insurance companies, for a brief moment, didn't deny nearly as many claims.
