No shit?

Exactly what happened is that Trump filed a bogus lawsuit then his crony at the Justice Department arranged for a bogus "settlement" so that Trump could get a slush fund from which to dole out money to other cronies.

It's blatant and overt fraud, and both of them should go to prison.

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 16 points 4 days ago

So the idiot Roberts court ruled that he can't be sued, but he can still sue others? What could possibly go wrong?

[-] prole 8 points 4 days ago

Not even sue others, he pretty much sued himself

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 8 points 4 days ago

Sued himself, but for our money.

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 days ago

Impeach then! What's the goddamn holdup?

[-] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 70 points 5 days ago

Trump does 5 impeachable things every day.

But it will only cause him to be impeached if the GOP turds in the house and the senate grow a conscience and get onboard with, ya know, upholding the Constitution.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago

Recent polls have Democrats winning in a landslide in November.

And we're still months away with Trump fucking up more every day.

And not just ruining America, but making the lives of his supporters harder and then saying he doesn't care.

Trump forgot the first rule of dictators, never openly betray your base.

The less committed Trump supporters are actually abandoning him. And that's wild. It gives me hope.

The true believers will never leave, but there aren't enough of them to force everyone else to follow. They will try, but likely fail, much like Orban failed in Hungary.

Trump forgot the first rule of dictators, never openly betray your base.

This doesn't hold true for Trump because his base doesn't have the mental capacity the good lord gave to turkeys: Trump can hurt them and insult them all he wants, they come back for more.

Don't bet on the Democrats winning the midterms too fast: if Trump and his henchmen don't rig the elections, I wouldn't put it past his dumb MAGA minions to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Even if we get a Democratic majority they could still easily disappoint us if the wrong ones win their primaries.

[-] danekrae@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

Recent polls have Democrats winning in a landslide in November.

And luckily the republicans won't have rigged it.

Elons ex just whistleblowed that Elon stole the 2024 election for Trump. Trump also said it in the start, some quote about Elon knowing election computers.

I even believe that he created in 2020, and that is how he is so sure biden did too. Because how else could he lose when he was cheating? But i think he learned that he needs to cheat more 🤷‍♂️

If ANYONE think there will be a democratic landslide while Trump and his cronies have the power, they are a fool. America is less of a democracy than Russia by now.

Unfortunately the supreme count has ensured that he is unimpeachable. If they left any loopholes, the entire republican congress is there ONLY to run interference for the dude.

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 37 points 4 days ago

So is raping kids. Yet he is still in office.

[-] JackiesFridge@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Cool, cool. Just put it on top of the precarious stack of all his other impeachable offences.

Here’s a ladder.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

Yeah, nearly any given day, he's committing impeachable offenses.

Good luck getting the criminal party that is the conservative party to lift a finger about any of it, though. They are either total pussies or down for it.

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

Every day, it is safe to assume he's done something illegal

[-] Buffalox@lemmy.world 26 points 4 days ago

Just like at least a dozen other impeachable offenses.

[-] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 6 points 4 days ago

Yep add it to the fucking pile

Don't put it next to the pile of felonies, otherwise it'd look miniscule by comparison

[-] Soulphite@reddthat.com 40 points 5 days ago

Every day trump wakes up is an impeachable offense.

[-] Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip 16 points 4 days ago

Sure.. impeach him a third time. That will definitely stop him.

[-] glitch1985@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Let's make it an even 10 and see if anything changes.

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

Fuck it, if the dems get the house but not the senate, impeach him for every single thing he's liable for. Do it 20 times a day. By my calculations the senate wouldn't have time to vote on any other bill.

[-] Kirp123@lemmy.world 21 points 4 days ago

Then impeach him.

If you're a US citizen remember that each time you pay your taxes you are just paying Donald Trump.

[-] innermachine@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Don't remind me. If I didn't know the state would come take my fucking house away I'd not be paying s penny in taxes, but alas the fuckers have me by the short and curlies. Not much choice.

[-] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

You can stop having federal taxes taken out of your paycheck. Just set whatever amount aside in an interest bearing account until tax time next year and pay it then.

You can at least deny them the money until then, and maybe earn a little interest on it instead.

[-] jj4211@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

They will hit you with and underpayment penalty, and they'll actually get a pretty decent amount more than they would have otherwise gotten from you...

[-] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 5 points 4 days ago

Just set whatever amount aside in an interest bearing account

An interest-bearing account you say? I haven't seen that in years.

Yupp it sure is!

And guess what they'll do about it?

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

Apparently law enforcement is standing there and saying what's illegal

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago

Nothing! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

[-] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago

And the worst part is, they still haven't released all the Epstein files. Also, Donald Trump raped children.

[-] wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 4 days ago

Sorry, did he say "where are the Epstein Files?" I could've sworn...

[-] IHeartBadCode@fedia.io 13 points 5 days ago

And?

They are never going to remove him from office. Full stop.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Just using the taxpayers as his own personal bank for handouts to cronies.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Well congressman, are you waiting for us to do it?

[-] AngryRedHerring@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago
[-] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 8 points 5 days ago

Add it to the list...

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Impeachment is a political process and Congress is controlled by fascists.

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 3 days ago

It also doesn't actually do anything apparently.

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Yes because the second half is fine by the Senate and is the removal part. So impeachment in the house has happened but the Senate has never voted to approve.

So it's like a cop writing a ticket but it never gets filed with the courts or something like that.

If you knew all that and were just bitching about it, sorry and I agree with your bitching. Hehe

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah I'm bitching. Probably good that you explained the issue anyway though.
