I quit for 2 months, many more to go, and while I don't have any cravings, I'm getting pissed at nothing, getting depressed, distro hopping, all in a day.

Woke up today extremely pissed off out of nowhere.

I don’t remember mood swings. I was a pretty heavy smoker for about 6 years, smoking was one of the ways that I self medicated. Like the vast majority of self medicating I did it all the wrong ways.

I changed my life in a lot of ways at that time. I lost a lot of weight, I quit smoking, I built a routine of working out regularly, I quit smoking pot, I got my shit together in school.

There were so many things I was doing better for myself that if I had any mood swings because of the lack of nicotine, that would have been masked by/compensated for by other things.

Yeah, maybe I need to do some other stuff too, sleep better. This might be that I'm sleeping very little.

It wasn't great. But the mild mood swings for a short period were better than the alternative of lung cancer and CHD.

I just quit vaping last fall or so. I had cravings for a week, that gradually became less pronounced. I don't even think about it now. Quitting kratom was tougher.

I managed to do some harm reduction before quitting (gradually turning down nicotine concentration, that kind of stuff), it helped a lot, so I only got cravings for a week or two too.

Now there are some of these side effects.
