Due to the recent supreme court ruling black people are 3/5 again.

You can't get to a half by adding up fifths.

[-] P1nkman@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago

Anything is possible with American math.

[-] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Add 5 whales and 34 prairie dogs and you get 26.5 elephants

Multiply 14 cats by 31 dogs and you get an abomination unto god

Maybe its your mother that counts for 1,5? ๐Ÿ˜

[-] fubarx@lemmy.world 32 points 2 weeks ago

Simple math error. They counted limbs, then divided by four.

[-] Tomassci@sh.itjust.works 29 points 2 weeks ago

That's what happens when your way of counting humans is an equation I guess.

[-] Pistcow@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Could have easily done a roundup function....

Typical race condition because birth is not an atomic operation. Count function was called when baby was half in / half out.

My half brother.

[-] certified_expert@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Haven't you ever heard the expression "half brother"?

Why is everyone so dumb

[-] herseycokguzelolacak@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago

They are probably using a formula to count, and forgot to round off.

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 weeks ago

These guys would not make good cattlemen, they can't round up.

Bunch of people are on the fence.

[-] sbeak@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

The number is based on the average birth/death rates around the world, which aren't exact, so there are sometimes a few quirks when it comes to statistics like these, like a weird decimal. As it turns out, there isn't some omnipresent being whose job is to count as all, and no, centaurs, mermaids, and other similar "half humans" unfortunately do not exist.

would astronauts count?

[-] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Scott Weiland said in his song Creep that he was "half the man he used to be". Maybe it's someone like that.

AI slop from Google

[-] erusuoyera@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 weeks ago

Since this is only counting humans, they've dropped the half biscuit.

You think there is only one half person. Really, there's a lot more than that. It's odd.

[-] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 2 points 2 weeks ago

Palestinians 'cause you're getting your numbers from Google

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

They usually count my bottom-half twice.

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

According to Timett, Son Of Timett, it's very cleary Tyrion. Smh my head, kids these days

[-] multifariace@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago
