I will never think of the new Dark Matter and not think of the older Dark Matter and be annoyed that they just used the same name as an existing show.
The old show was not great. It was barely good. Using its name still feels sketchy to me.

It probably wouldn't have gotten as many seasons if it weren't slotted between the expanse and killjoys when it aired.
It's based on a book of the same name though so can't really blame them for the fact another, unrelated show used it for TV first.
I want to say there doesn’t feel like there was a plan in place for another season, but we’ll see how it goes. I will watch.
This one didn’t grab me, which is a shame as I really like both of the leads. I am going to give it another try.
Took me until episode 5 to really click with me. Once we get to see box travel in practice.
Interesting, for some reason I assumed this was done after a single season. I think it's already covered most of the novel, so this would be new stuff written exclusively for TV. Not sure if I will continue watching, although I did enjoy the first season, as there's a lot of other stuff to watch out there and the first season worked fine as a self-contained story.
What a good show. Can't wait!!
