It says this is near the front, I hope they have a quick way to tear it down if shit goes sideways so the Russians cant use it.
5 km to 20 km
Quadruples.
I will never bother with the details of math, not twice not never.
I know they are i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶w̶a̶r̶ being attacked by Russia but this has to be terrible for the wildlife.
This is what I've thought about for the longest time. Imagine the fishes getting killed by depth charges and torpedo blasts. The bombs landing on land and cratering it, killing the burrowing rabbits, insects and other underground creatures. I've always wondered if we have inadvertently killed animals that could have compounds with medicinal value, or just extincted a rare animal, by war. These animals would have no idea what's going on. The bullets, bombs, planes and tanks are like spacecraft for them, as we would view of spacecrafts lasering us from heaven.
I think this is where I was coming from with my original comment, although I had not thought about these specific things… it’s like that movie I can’t remember that came out in the 90’s about the insect that could cure cancer being killed by rainforest devastation…. Was just taking a moment to reflect how I saw this headline photo as hurting wildlife…. Regardless of which side of the war you’re on… but, and I feel the need to say it although I think I translated it wrong… fuck your Russian battleships?
Imagine how bad all the bullets, artillery and explosions are for the wildlife! The noise pollution alone is horrific, and that is the absolute most trivial impact.
Russia should stop fighting, they are losing everything and gaining nothing.
Agreed, I just meant that dividers and impenetrable fences like this are know to cause a lot of problems with migratory animals…..
That whole shite war has to end. After that the country and the wildlife can heal.
Except Chernobyl maybe… funny not funny
The landscape in parts of the front is completely covered in plastic fiber optic cables from drones https://t.me/ombr_63/1262
I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they're glass, not plastic. I'm not sure if that's better or worse.
Even the glass ones, which are less common, use plastic cladding. https://ceobs.org/plastic-pollution-from-fibre-optic-drones-may-threaten-wildlife-for-years/
I remember reading about that
Bring this headline to year 2019 and see how people there react.
Our new normal is... Weird.
And sad. But in the end humanity will prevail. That much is clear now! 💛💙
