Nothing says pro life than killing anyone who receives an abortion, even if the abortion is to save the life of the mother which is the case for: Preeclampsia/Eclampsia, Placenta Previa/Accreta, Previable PPROM, Cardiac/Renal Disease, and Ectopic Pregnancy

Most people actually agree on the same thing once you get down into the details of abortion. For some reason everyone likes to lump themselves into "pro-life" or "pro-choice" camps and then argue about the extreme takes from either side.

It's because the pro life people are fed bullshit about pro choice people, like they get pregnant just so they can murder babies.

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

Babies are an excuse. This is about misogyny and coercive control.

They also want to terrorize/murder "Democrats" and brown women.

[-] bajabound@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

The pro-abortion people are bad at marketing their position.

[-] Psionicsickness@reddthat.com 1 points 1 day ago

The article specifically says there are exceptions in the bill which includes to save the life of the mother.

[-] Heikki2@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

They say that but upto the doctors to prove its medically necessary to avoid lawsuits by the state. This delay is killing people. the politicians that rally for religious freedom and against sharia law, really like to impose theirs on others.

[-] HuntressHimbo@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 day ago

The less obvious fucked up part is how do you suppose they determine whether an exception was met? Do you think that is happening before the law enforcement goons have access to personal medical data?

Almost certain that at the very least, having a medically necessary abortion will get your private health records turned over to the police. You will become an investigation target and have your privacy violated before they can even possibly know whether you fall under an exception. Mix in the general disposition of police and the specific conflicting interest of stalker/abusive cops who will have no motivation to protect the people in these situations and you have a system designed to put every pregnant person in the US in the sights of PD firearms.

Save babies. Kill women.

Sounds pretty spot on for conservatives. Oops. Forgot one.

Save babies. Kill women. Put children to work.

One day, there will be a reckoning...I hope these men suffer for their beliefs... I say that as a white man. I also say this...I shouldn't have a say in what a random woman does with her body. The only women I should be involved with is my wife (if she gives me the option) and my daughters (which I don't have).

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

What right could be more intimate and involiable than that of bodily autonomy? And such what sin could be greater than to deny it?

[-] Didntdoit71@feddit.online 2 points 1 day ago

First the GOP (Guardians Of Pedophiles) the most sacred right is apparently the right to rape amd murder children without facing any form of prosecution. The idea that a sitting President can't be tried should have gone out he window the same second that evidence became available that said President has raped and murdered children became available. These monsters are getting away with horrific crimes against children and being protected by one of only two major political parties - for the sole reason that they are wealthy. As long as the Epstein criminals walk free, JUSTICE is dead in America. No one should be prosecuted for any crimes until all Epstein criminals are investigated, tried, ans executed. Yes, executed, especially the ones that are accused of murdering unwanted infant offspring of their hellish liaisons. If that offends you, I don't care. If an Epstein accused is found guilty of raping children - execute them - preferably in public - to insure that anyone else considering committing those crimes is very solidly convinced to not do so. Especially, those also accused of murder...

I got banned from Reddit for that opinion...Will Lemmy defend the pedophiles too and accuse me of calling for "political" violence. Notice that I called for trials first. That's how the American legal system works. You have s trial, you carry out a sentence. The death penalty is legal in the US.. That's not political based on a party. If Bill Clinton is guilty execute him too. If Bill Gates is guilty, sharpen a guillotine. If it's Donald Trump - do it twice - because his name appears in the Epstein files almost as much as Epstein. If that opinion offends you, I don't care. You should be offended that the sitting President of the United States is being protected from investigation by his political allies on both sides of the aisle. He's being told that he can commit any crime, and NO ONE can stop him! He said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and people would still vote for him...and his enablers are going out of their way to prove that he was correct. It's absolutely disgusting! The acts listed on those files are beyond heinous and anyone defending the perpetrators had better have an iron stomach just to read the accusations.

This could backfire on them, I recall several years back reading a study in which anti-abortion sentiment plummeted the moment subjects were asked whether the pregnant woman herself should be punished (not even executed, just punished) for getting an abortion.

It's an interesting bit of cognitive dissonance, the sentiment seemed to be "yeah, abortion is murder, the doctor's a murderer, but the person who hired him to do that murder is an innocent victim who must be protected."
