"I support ICE" is the new "I'm a racist"

Prove me wrong.

[-] CubitOom@infosec.pub 7 points 3 days ago

It is also the new "I don't believe in the Constitution"

I'm more conservative than anyone that supports the Fascist Regime in America because I believe people in the USA should have constitutional rights.

[-] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

Everyone should believe in constitutional/human rights. That's not a partisan position, that's a human position.

The monsters posing as humans to push any agenda that would rob humans of their rights, should not be considered neither "left" nor "right". Many of them are simply aggressive capitalists that value profits more than human lives. There are exceptions to this.

Anyone got some background on this? I'm outta the loop

[-] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 143 points 5 days ago

Some asshole going around his school filming and announcing "I support ICE!". He passes this guy who responds "I'm gonna punch you", the filmer says "you'll get in trouble", to which the guy pictured replies "okay" and starts swinging

[-] HeartyOfGlass@piefed.social 21 points 4 days ago

That is what we call "good trouble".

That many ACAB in a school, that country is wild! And OF COURSE they're all cool with the fascist, lol.

[-] voytrekk@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago

They have to be careful to a degree, since the government isn't allowed to stifle free speech on government property. If they told him he wasn't allowed to they would open themselves up to a lawsuit.

[-] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago

Law enforcement requires fascism and power.

[-] EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 5 days ago

There's a link called Context in the post.

Reminds me of this photograph.

The mother of the woman was imprisoned in a concentration camp by the nazis. The guy later killed a Jew.

This kid overnight became the coolest kid in school, maybe the coolest kid in any school.

Boy is an icon.

[-] orochi02@feddit.org 6 points 3 days ago

Im curious if it actually made him popular or whether he suffers from it tbh

[-] LMurch@thelemmy.club 123 points 5 days ago

I'm glad this is on Lemmy.

Reddit would put you on a list, send it to DHS, and give you a 3 day ban...just for up-voting.

[-] Chicxulub@lemmy.world 28 points 5 days ago

That's what motivated me to make an account here. Reddit are fascist sympathizers.

[-] variablenine@lemmy.world 22 points 4 days ago

Me too. Right now I'm in the middle of a 3 day ban for saying that any country that needs genocide to exist, should not exist.

I don't feel like going back after that one

Why are you talking about reddit? Fuck reddit. What a shitty place to be.

[-] LibertyLizard@quokk.au 21 points 5 days ago

I often wonder if DHS is aware of the threadiverse. I would assume so but who knows? At least I don't think our admins would cooperate with them for the most part.

If you are in the same room as a Nazi and you are not punching the Nazi there are two Nazis in the room.

WTF are all US schools like that? With all that security it looks like it was filmed in an airport

[-] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 75 points 5 days ago

Because we have school shootings all the damn time. It still won't stop them from happening but it's not like we're gonna go after the source of the problem and ban guns anytime soon. Security theater is the best thing administrations can do and the kids are those who end up suffering the most out of it.

[-] CubitOom@infosec.pub 71 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Cops at schools often escalate problems and use excessive force on children.

[-] SarahValentine 40 points 5 days ago

They're part of the youth control complex. They exist to criminalize children, creating a new generation of victim they can use to justify their continued existence. Fuck the police.

And we can't go after the guns because patriots are going to use them in case the government ever starts doing tyrannical things like grabbing people off the streets without due process, killing protesters, breaking into houses without warrants, or threatening the voting system.

If any of that happens sometime in the future the good ol' boys will be ready to protect the Constitution and we'll understand that all the dead kids were worth it.

Overpopulated schools with underpaid teachers and a broad culture of "radical individualism" and a school system designed more to occupy children with preparing for work instead of teaching them anything, along with rampant, petty lawsuits from families of children over utter nonsense have led to the US having an abysmal, almost prison-like aesthetic for public education.

Combine all this with a culture that revolves around violence as a glorified solution to problems while also reinforcing division between people and everything's a hotbed for tension and hate and shootings.

We could probably legitimately solve a LOT of America's problems if we used our schools for actual teaching and paid the staff and teachers properly so kids could get actual knowledge, free meals and a sense of safety, but that's not what the corporations want - they want us dumb, numb and isolated from each other.

My grandpa would have approved this and said something like "ah, that takes me back".

[-] djdarren@piefed.social 19 points 4 days ago

The WORST kind of shithead is the one who does shitty things because they're technically legal.

The kid in the original video didn't need to walk around school 'protesting' his support of the status quo. He didn't need to act like he was some kind of fucking minority. Then as soon as his actions met any kind of negative (to him) repercussions he was all like "THAT'S ILLEGAL".

And I don't wish pain or injury on him. I just wish him to fuck off. I nothing him. I wish him a future where he can look back upon this episode with shame that he was such a piece of shit at this stage in his life.

But he won't.

The usual shitehawks and grifters will champion him for their own gain, they'll inflate him and make him feel important, and at worst he'll end up becoming a figurehead for the oppressed, silent, majority. A silent majority who I wish would shut the fuck up once in a while.

Any word on what happened to this kid?
Are they arresting kids or just suspension or am I just showing my age?

[-] CubitOom@infosec.pub 73 points 4 days ago

I'm not yet sure what happened to the kid that punched the fascist.

However, the fascist was apparently banned from Instagram for pulling fire alarms

I would like to officially nominate that kid for office of the President of the USA 2028.

Not sure the country could handle such a large swing upwards in qualifications.

I hope he did not get into trouble for this. Even though I would not have choosen violence, I can clearly understand him.
