tbf university specifically doesn't turn out to actually be financially rewarding today; lots of people have degrees but it doesn't really help them on the labor market.
and i even argue that DEI hiring does not happen so much because it's government mandated but because companies prefer the cheaper labor that they get from women, because they often do comparable labor but get lower wages, so the company saves some money. DEI is just an excuse the company brings forward to justify it in front of their male employees, so the management doesn't get hated for replacing the workforce with other, cheaper workforce. at least that's my guess if i had to make one.

Bro it’s 2026. Almost every woman with children in my close circle who is of my generation had their first kid in their thirties. Like raising a kid is much easier when you have a stable financial foundation.
All the ones in my circle who had kids in their 20s are miserable. The rest are childless and much happier (at least given the times we're living in).
I have a friend who had his first at 18, I had my first at 36. We honestly cant work out who had/has it easier.
He had to scrimp and stretch every penny he could get his hands on. But he was young, had energy and his parents were young enough to help alot.
I'm financially secure (enough and for now) but I'm always tired as fuck, short on time and the grandparents probably consume as much time as they save.
The average age for first childbirth is 29.6 years old. It's absolutely the norm to have kids at an older age.
