I'm terrible at drawing, so I in fact cannot.

But I'll take this as an opportunity to experiment.

Drawing of a a field of flowers, with a mountain partially covered in snow in the background. A winding road goes along the mountain through a forest and passes a house. At the foot of the mountain is a large body of water with some birds flying above the shore. The sun is partially covered by the clouds and is shining its light on where the road first comes to this side of the mountain.

[-] BitsAndBites@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

This looks like it might be the bottom of the mountain in the old game SkiFree

Here's something I drew last week.

I never got around to really properly starting a game project I was making 9 years ago (gee, time flies) called The Great Adventure. In it you'd explore a tropical island! In the quit screen there was a message "the turtles bid you goodbye!"

Now the game was just a text-based thing written in Turbo Pascal for DOS, but this illustration here is what I had in mind.

[-] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 17 points 1 month ago

Wow, I haven't thought about Turbo Pascal or Borland in such a long time! Thanks for triggering some happy memories. I bid the turtle goodbye back!

Someone once told me “if you want to be good at art, try drawing things upside down”.

Here is an upside down apple that I flipped 180…

There was a subreddit that I really miss called something like "whatsthiscookiecutter", where people would post a cookie cutter they couldn't figure out. People would create all sorts of weird, random, and funny drawings.

[-] BitsAndBites@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago

I got a much better response than anticipated. I love it! Ive been trying to make an effort to contribute to Lemmy instead of just lurking. I also started making some small contributions to Lemmy and Lemmy.world.

I love it here, thanks for your participation everyone!
