CNC milled aluminium parts? (forum.guncadindex.com)

Has anyone ever tried making a kind of hybrid design using both 3d printed and cnc milled aluminium parts? I'm about to build a aluminium-capable cnc, so if anyone has any Ideas for me to try, I'd be very happy!

You could try the Prof parabellum Hybrid Square Tube SMG under “hybrid designs” on the Gatalog

You could also mill triggers and whatnot. If you got a CNC you kinda need to carve your own path here. Start with small stuff and work up.

square tube smg is fa only so either need SOT or felony. ik free men dont ask but free men also enjoy being free lol

carve your own path here

I see what you did there.

With CNC routers that can cut aluminum being the price of a decent printer, I hope to see a lot more metal in the fosscad space.

I also just bought an aluminum/ mild steel capable cnc, plan is to use it for cutting flat parts out of steel to eliminate using scs and mill other general stuff out of aluminum until more people get into both and start more hybrid builds. my biggest goal is to spend around a year really dialing in the cam side of things and multi op parts for more complex objects such as slides and uppers/ lowers. titans of cnc have a ton of great content on cnc’s however theyre all production size. lately ive been watching a lot from JBWorxStudio, he has a ton of great content on desktop cnc’s

Mild Steel sounds really interesting, there is this one design from Prof Parabellum, a semi-auto pistol chambered in .380 made from sheet metal, might be a good starting point

The Stack-A-Gat19 by SCSM would be a pretty good start. A mostly milled Harlot seems doable since the side plates are printed flat. Honestly, a lathe may be a better option since it opens up making barrels, launcher hulls, anything cylindrical etc.
