Why do they say actress? It’s not human. So it’s not acting. It’s a lifelike animation.

[-] Rothe@piefed.social 21 points 1 month ago

They are doing free marketing for the company who launched this shit.

Wait until her promotional tours to spot the difference

The thing that offputs me most is companies trying to humanize diffusion models and LLMs. Sorry but your graphics cards can't actually read

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 1 points 1 month ago

And why don't they put the name of the creator in the title.. I don't want to have to read this slop to find out who it was.

If it's not supposed to be a replacement for a human being then what the actual fuck is it supposed to be?

My boss did this same exact shit. 'oh, no no, we won't be relying on AI to develop our websites! No no, not at all! You just have to use it to write the code for you! It's not a replacement for a developer, it's just a tool!'

AI freaks are some of the weirdest, dumbest, most maliciously anti-human people on Earth.

Same there, yet suddenly month after "we will not replace you" I had to do all the work older graphic designers did before, because boss felt a bit too comfy about his new ai powers.

My boss will regularly send random, unrelated, unrequested AI videos into the general slack channel, and literally everybody else in the room loves them. It's fucking weird, it feels like being the only grown-up in a nursery sometimes 😂

We had simmilar shit.

Attending univ was a problem for him, but spending whole day on generating random bullshit images for fun was considered a "productive work".

It's not supposed to replace, only provide a cheaper and always willing alternative to bring to any contract negotiation.

If meat actors don't want to adjust to the new reality, megacorps will be FORCED to use this AiCTORS /s

I'm sure this won't make more people objectify women...

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 1 points 1 month ago

They'd be objectifying software in this case. Is it not better to keep them distracted from bothering real women? I'm not pro AI or anything but I would think that is a plus.

Will she do her own stunts?

[-] hazl 8 points 1 month ago

Will Tilly be the first actor to be this universally despised before ever even being cast in a role?

If S1m0ne (from 2002) was scripted properly instead of being boring, it would have been a very good scathing movie about AI actors right on the nose.

As I've written, this is the (arguably messed up) actress pipeline trying to anthropomorphize a tool, an archaic system clinging to life in the face of another grift.

Involving agencies, personifying her, and such helps sell the tool so the end result (to the customer, aka ad makers probably) feels a bit less like Lara Croft selling a Snickers bar.
