All those troops are going to become trans if what I hear about Portland is true.

[-] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 132 points 1 week ago

SO, US troops, how ya feeling about being deployed against the citizens you supposedly swore an oath to protect?

If you follow this order, you are a cowardly bootlicking nazi traitor. Every. single. one of you.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 63 points 1 week ago

Don't worry, the big meeting this week is the unveiling of the new Hitler oath.

Oops, I mean Hitler.

I mean Trump.

I get it, but deploying military domestically with "full force" is absolutely not a fucking distraction. It's the real deal.

[-] Tujio@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago

I have to keep saying this. The Epstein files are the fucking distraction. Dismantling the world's most powerful nation is the real lede here, people.

[-] brendansimms@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Agreed. No one needs to see any "files" to know that the pres and his buddies are child raping fascists. Even if we did see them, nothing would come from it. The Justice system protects these people. No one is saving us but ourselves - get out there and build your community cause a 100billion$ gestapo force is being built right now.

[-] f1error@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

It’s beyond time to give the Epstein victims full justice. The files are not a distraction. Saying so is just poor judgment.

[-] meco03211@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

And with the full unredacted files, there's a chance we'd see a true fracture of the MAGA movement. That would likely put a quick stop to most of the extra stupid shenanigans.

I think it's both. This kind of omniscandle is so hard to react appropriately to. We all get desensitised very quickly. Imo, he's testing the water and seeing what he can get away with, increasing it in increments. I think they're testing to see which units are loyal. Even if it doesn't work out, it's a great use of "dead cat strategy."

[-] Xanthobilly@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

I always agree with posting this, however this time, it’s somehow worse. This is Trump declaring war on US citizens.

[-] Zerlyna@lemmy.world 53 points 1 week ago

This is so stupid. I’m screaming into the void , I know.

[-] salacious_coaster@infosec.pub 27 points 1 week ago

I feel like everyone is just playing along and waiting for someone to finally take Grandpa's keys away.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 week ago

The Hollywood action hero

Everyone is waiting for the Captain America, Charles Xavier, Spiderman, Superman hero to come out of nowhere and save everyone at the last possible moment.

Because the entire country is way too lazy and complacent to even think that they could save themselves.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

i'm still waiting for guffman. he'll save us

You can call me a doomer, but walk me through this. If someone makes a call to put together a well regulated militia as is defined as the peoples constitutional right according to the documents Every state had to agree to to become a state. The Trump administration labels them ANTIFA, and they then could legally round up anyone who was involved and arrest them as terrorists.

Anyone acting individually couldn't accomplish anything as they would be labeled a violent extremist / terrorist and would be killed or arrested within a day or 2 from the moment they tried anything. Mass surveillance is on MAGAs side, which is why they are for it right now.

To me I see it as this. 60% of the country is complacent and think their lives will be better off doing nothing. 20% believe this is good and anyone going against it is bad. 20% believe this is bad, but have no avenue to thwart it.

They can't talk online, or meet anywhere that involves cars, trains, planes, buses, or any other form of travel. Think about cities such as Orlando. A blue area in a red state. There are more than 1,000 cameras owned by 1 private company feeding the data back to the government. Throw in Blink cameras, Teslas, and any population member who is outside of that 20% who would like to thwart this... And anywhere they go they are tracked. They would be caught if they tried to build a militia. Yet those are the places where non-content people would be located.

[-] tlekiteki@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago

That lasts as long as the economy does. Only when the other shoe drops and the 60% pick a sides does the battle for the streets begin in earnest.

Its a culture war. And the admin is has already aligned themselves with... a despised faction that formed the least successful political movement of the last century? Does that seem like a winning strategy?

Well if the banks are right the AI bubble is what is keeping the economy going, and a bank came out saying by 2030 their will be about $800 billion dollar shortage in investments to keep the bubble afloat. Meaning the great depression should start to culminate sometime around 1929 when investors see the finite currency can't keep being dragged from the lower classes up to support these investments. Oops I meant 2029.

Full force against WHAT!? WHO!?

[-] lennybird@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Full force to distract from his covering for sex trafficking Pedos?

[-] Kwyjibo1@lemmy.myserv.one 18 points 1 week ago

Trump is named in the Epstein files. Don't get distracted.

[-] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 week ago

I don't know if Oregon is a blue or red state, but I can guess with high confidence after reading this

[-] running_ragged@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

I think it has a lot more to do with the urban / rural political divide. And the fact that the cities are where political unrest will begin and take root.

They’re trying to stifle it before it gets bad, or use any violence as an excuse to increase the pressure.

Also, it helps normalize having soldiers in the streets , so citizens put up with it as a new way of living.

[-] Mynameisallen@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 week ago

What’s wild about it too is how the far right who spent decades railing against the Feds are suddenly seeming pretty cool with this. Like did folks just suddenly forget ruby ridge? Or Waco? Guys is Mcveigh not a hero anymore?? What’s happening?

[-] QuadDamage@kbin.earth 8 points 1 week ago

They didn't, in their eyes all of this is "revenge" for for the 2020 riots and woke. That all being said, I do think the government is employing Strategy of Tension in order to make the masses screech for a surveillance state.

[-] Juice@midwest.social 3 points 1 week ago

Its ironic that the strategies that America used to terrorize Europeans into accepting NATO, are being used to terrorize Americans while dismantling NATO. That old imperial boomerang keeps coming back around

[-] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He will never deploy troops to a red state. Dictators don't need to re-conquer their territory

[-] Tinidril@midwest.social 4 points 1 week ago

He's already deployed troops to Tennessee.

[-] Sho@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Deploy troops to all the major blue cities? Secret impromptu meeting for the generals? Hmmmm.....something feels fishy.

[-] AlecSadler 6 points 1 week ago

I feel sorry for the agents being deployed to Portland that will lose their life.

Kidding, I don't. Unfortunately, I do feel bad for how that will completely cement a dictatorship.
