The proposal is reportedly structured as a three-year reform plan and calls on UCLA to set up a $172 million reparations fund for people with claims of civil rights violations, end sex changes for minors, and affirm that there are only two official genders.

Students from foreign countries who enter the university should not be “anti-Western, anti-American, or antisemitic.” The administration still welcomes international students and asks UCLA to create special resources to help acclimate them to the “norms of a campus dedicated to free inquiry and open debate.”

Can someone please help me with this double speak? Clearly free inquiry is very limited if even the word "transgender" is illegal.

I agree, it's double speak. Free inquiry and open debate would expect trans voices to be heard in the debate. instead, trans ppl are being silenced.

Respect the people who belong here. If you're confused what that means, here's a minor primer:

No asking to date trans people or otherwise meet up with them. No treating being transgender as a mental illness or as being lesser in any way. No arguing with trans people about their identity. No arguing with trans people about their vulnerabilities, including anything related to sports, laws, etc. This includes anything else that the mod team deems disrespectful.

  1. Stay on topic!

Posts should be related to the defense, advocacy, and restoration of LGBTQ+ rights.

This Community is for news regarding, as well as the discussion of, anti LGBTQ+ laws, hate crimes, and propaganda.
