You're reading a lot into what most likely amounts to bad writing. If these characters were as smart and capable as you think, they would be working on multiple angles of engagement, at the same time.
There would be the legal angles...which they intentionally fumbled, according to you...and then there would be the covert angles, which are still ongoing.
But then there are the potential financial angles, which really depend on public / investor confidence. How much confidence do people have in both active parties? Who are they willing to "bet on" to come out on top of this transaction? Without that confidence, Yutani would potentially be losing investors to Kid Kavalier, who appears to hold all the cards.
Why would she intentionally sabotage her own position like that, when she literally had the means to dominate that meeting, on all three fronts?

The best option for a defensive firearms is a 5.56x45mm AR-15, 12gauge Remington 870 shotgun, and a reputable 9x19mm handgun.
Defensive firearms should have a WML, long guns a sling, and handguns require a Kydex or solid plastic holster that fully covers the trigger.
