Fact: if you're ever in a stadium, and the person next to you cheers for a fascist, you have the right to punch them

[-] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 day ago

it's an obligation, actually

[-] betanumerus@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago

With his tariffs, Trump told everyone in the world to fuck off.

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 80 points 1 day ago

When are the police going to arrest the sexual predator in the Whitehouse?

[-] quick_snail@feddit.nl 17 points 1 day ago
[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago

All of them but particularly the one who made threatening memes against Chicago

[-] D_C@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 day ago

Wait, do you mean the best friend of Jeffery Epstein and unregistered child rapist, the convicted criminal P01135809, the top secret document thief and insurrection instigator, and the convicted rapist of E Jean Carroll. That guy?

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago

Yes, that one

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 day ago

I'd like to tell you a little something about the police.

[-] PenguinMage@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

I feel like Rage Against the Machine taught me a lot about them...

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

Now, listen to Killer Mike and KRS-One.

[-] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 4 points 1 day ago

haven't heard [of] them.. but likely they won't slap like RATM with their burning monk on the CD cover (with the parental guidance sticker) and lyrics like "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" yeh my parents hated that album. I love it still.

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Killer Mike, I personally feel, is better than RATM, but I also really like hip hop in general (As well as Punk). KRS-One was spitting these facts since before RATM even hit the stage.

Give them a listen, you wont be disappointed, if you also dig hip hop.

For example, one song by Killer Mike is "Reagan", and a sample lyric "I'm glad Reagan's dead"

[-] PenguinMage@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Killer Mike & run the jewels have been a good source too! Honestly never gave KRS-One a good shake, but I will after this.

[-] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 86 points 2 days ago

That's quite remarkable considering the kind of crowd usually found at tennis matches.

[-] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 92 points 2 days ago

The Manhattan elites have despised Trump longer than anyone else.

Here's an article about how he took his big chance to get in good with them and spat in their faces.

Hell... His whole family is nothing but shitasses. Woody Guthrie even wrote a song about his dad being a shitass.

Life long New Yorker here. A thing that the article doesn't mention is that Jackie Kennedy had just lead a campaign to save Grand Central Station. She was the most beloved celebrity in the world at the time, and he could have had her blessings. Threw it all away because of his own greed and pigheadedness

[-] Gold_E_Lox@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 day ago

tennis is a rich man's game? and rich people traditionally love a good fash.

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Sounds like a stereotype to me. Tennis tickets are usually less expensive than football or basketball matches in my experience.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 58 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The article keeps saying that the stadium wasn't that full. But the more it filled up, the worse it got. He stiffened when he started to hear it and then went back in not too long after. The flag being booed during the national anthem is also interesting.

I'm curious, was hitler ever booed while he was in power?

[-] silence7@slrpnk.net 51 points 1 day ago

Not so sure about Hitler, but Mussolini definitely was — and tended to take revenge afterwards.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 43 points 1 day ago

It seems there are no records of that happening. Not to say that there wouldn't be if everyone felt free to do that.

I find this article about him fascinating.

  • He was beaten by his father (daddy issues)
  • He was homeless
  • He sold his art to Jewish patrons.
  • He was temporarily blinded during World War I
  • He was in the military after WWI and was put in the considered Worker's Party (later the nazis) as a spy, but found he liked it.
  • Hitler designed the flag
  • "Hitler developed the style of speaking which hypnotized audiences, belittling perceived enemies and condemning the scapegoats which he said were the source of all the ills besetting Germany,"
  • "Under German law, the Reichstag was allowed to pass a measure known as an Enabling Act, granting temporary authority to the Chancellor and the President to enact laws exclusive of the democratic process"
  • "Hitler was able to rule Germany by decree, issuing laws and suppressing civil liberties as he chose"
  • "Nazification of the civil service was critical to Hitler’s power"

Mother Fucker, we're in trouble if the hamberders don't get him.

Being the little whiny vindictive little bitch that he is, he will likely threaten to cut some sort of funding to Arthur Ashe Stadium or US open men's tennis tournament.

[-] jewbacca117@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

He's gonna try to make it the US Closed

[-] prole 3 points 1 day ago

Arthur Ashe stadium

Oh that's the name? He'll probably force them to rename it with the name of a straight, white redneck

[-] thebudman420@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

First time hearing / seeing the word jeers used in speech. lol Trump really didn't want everyone to realize he is full of shit when he says everyone likes him and they are saying Trump best this Trump best that.

[-] Wazowski@lemmy.world 34 points 1 day ago

Good. Fucking cunt.

Trump should just take Bruce Springsteen with him wherever he goes and then he'll have plausible deniability.

[-] prole 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They'd literally have to arrest him
