My comment for this was:

No one's mentioned bras and how they are significantly worse? Lets make arbitrary cup and band sizes, but then add in how each bra has a different shape and projection even in the same brand. Are you full on top, full on bottom, average, shallow? What about root width and height? Well you won't know if any bra will fit until you try, even changing cup and band sizes won't make a bra not made for your shape fit properly. Each brand does their own different sizing even in each bra, each global country has their own sizing system, and it is madness.

Straight up I have only been buying from Panache because I am sort of figuring out their system. I tried the sub a-bra-that-fits and their calculator put me in the wrong size (too big, 34F/FF UK) since I have less projection, so did Victoria's Secret (too small, 34DDD US) and every other store I tried to get measured in. So far Alexis, Ana, and Clara fit well with Evie being passable since I needed a strapless. I tried freya offbeat and the wires were too wide, I tried parfait and the cups were too big, fuck all of this really. I am 36E (UK) in Panache, but can easily be something else in a different bra. At one point 34G (chantelle) fit pretty well but tight. I need dumb bras but do also wear wireless sports bras when I am sick of it all.

I never really went clothes shopping when I was man, and so transitionimg has been doubly hard in the clothing department because I have no idea what I like or what would look good. Sizing diificulties are the cherry on top. Generally I go a size up, but sometimes it's the same and sometimes I have to go two sizes up and that only works when it's a normal s/m/l/xl sizing scheme.

I religiously stick to Freya bras cos a 30E always fits me. I also stick to the same 4 clothing stores cos it's infuriating having to buy 300 items to send 299 back! It's also depressing AF.

Are the Freya plunges actually a cup size too big? People on ABTF said it runs large but since the Freya offbeat had these weird wide wires on me I haven't tried them again. Even trying the half-cups seems daunting since some women said they were still too big??? But yeah, I hate bra sizing. At least it should be more descriptive beyond just a cup and band size.

I don't think so although tbf I've not been measured in years so it's entirely possible! They're well made bras and they fit

This isn’t limited to women’s or even just clothes. Had to explain to my daughter why one pair of boots is a full size smaller despite fitting just as well.

We’ve got US and European standard sizes listed on the box and I guess they are supposed to be a suggestion

Ewa Michalak all day every day for me. I found what works and I am sticking to it. New bra day never fails to be "magic shoulder pain melt away" day, too.

One day I complained to my guy friend about not finding normal shorts that fit and cover my underwear. He didn't believe me, so we went on a mission. After three hours in the mall, we left empty handed, him shaking his head going "I had no idea it was that bad."

Now I just make my own from pants. Oh, and icebreaker for bras. I don't buy anything else.

It isn't even necessarily consistent within brands. It is infuriating at times, and makes shopping online less practical than it should be.

I'm also a Panache girly. 34GG. Sadly they're pretty much impossible to get in Germany.

Panache is the best ❤️ I have to buy them online and don't always get the color I want but it is progress and a lifesaver right now.
