Or that means you are willing to spend $$$ to basically tear down a house and rebuild it just to "own" your wife?

I would say "AI" didn't decorate it either. It provided an image of an idea. It'll take the fictional wife another 30 years to make it happen. And my money is on divorce before that. How come it's her job only? Pull your finger out of your butt, "AI" meme maker, and do it with your wife.

I also choose to do it with the AI guys imaginary wife.

AI guy's wife is also AI and their backstory is fictional

Our real estate photographer "digitally staged" a few of our prictures at the recommendation of our realtor. When I was looking for our current house, that meant adding digital furniture to show what a room could look like. Instead, this photographer fed the pics into some ai editor that changed a bunch of shit in the pictures in addition to adding furniture. I was livid. It wasn't even well done, it added extra lights in the middle of mirrors, added fake switches, put in fake door trim, etc..

I've noticed clearly ai images in a ton of listings. You don't know what the hell you're getting until you show up to look at it. So much worse than the staged photos from a few years ago.

Even just "retouched" pictures are really bad, colors that the human eye cannot perceive, angles that look like an mc escher painting, and lighting that would set fire to most synthetic materials. The fake grass copy/paste is pretty bad on its own. Adding the ai stuff should be material misrepresentation/false advertising.

I just don't understand it either, what are they hoping for? Do they think that someone is going to hit buy it now after seeing the pictures, then not fight them about how it isn't like the pics?

I assume it's about competing with other listings just to get you in the door. Which inevitably leads to a letdown.

Can we also talk about the sexism in there?

  1. Very different building
  2. Sexism

"Why would your wife have to do that?" Comes to my mind when seeing this slop.

I am not against roles in a relationship but blaming the other person publicly like that is ... weird and as an ad, it feels very sexist.

[-] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

Yes also that. Why it should be exclusively her job? And probably in a abusive relationship like that she would have been shunned for everything like ”what?? You paid $4 for this decoration? Immediately go to return it, and do it quickly because I'm hungry and you didn't finish cooking dinner yet!"

[-] Tartas1995@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 5 days ago

It feels that way, yeah. But there are many of these ads, so I doubt it is "real". So i don't think that there is a real woman that is being abused here.

While clearly there is someone with a toxic mindset who could be abusing people around them.

yea it's too easy lol: just destroy the old house and build a completely different one.

[-] Flamekebab@piefed.social 16 points 6 days ago

Did the "AI" do the planning permission paperwork for that substantial extension?

[-] cecilkorik@lemmy.ca 9 points 6 days ago

I love their double light post light. /s

If I ever stop being able to find the humor in AI slop, I don't know how I'll survive the onslaught of it.

[-] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 8 points 5 days ago

The double-decker lamp post: twice as traditional.

There’s probably an entire city in China retooling as we speak to specialise in manufacturing homewares as seen in AI slop, because you know that some percentage of people who see something like this will want it.

[-] cecilkorik@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago

Honestly not the worst business model I've heard of.

[-] gloog@fedia.io 8 points 6 days ago

Yet another data point for my "AI is for people who hate their family" list. I feel like every single consumer focused ad is targeted towards either that or people who are looking for regular reminders on how to do complicated things like "breathing."

[-] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Thats a lot more than decorating, thats full on renovations. Nearly every material of the house was replaced and an additional door installed.

[-] Aeri@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

It'd also not real so like, yeah? It IS easy to draw something compared to remodeling anything

[-] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

I bet it took more than three seconds

[-] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Maybe not if it's a 1-megawatt server rack

[-] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 days ago

I too love huge racks

[-] teft@piefed.social 4 points 6 days ago

It’s the same house. The ai just added parts to it.

[-] Cheradenine@sh.itjust.works 13 points 6 days ago

House of Theseus? It removed two windows, re-roofed and rendered the walls, added an extension, added doors. Not really the same house

[-] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

to make it with three steps at the new entrance you might need to dig out all the garden, though
