No. I don't like everything being tucked in and tight for the next time I crawl into bed. And I don't like it all flattened, I need contour to get cozy. If I'm a guest or at a hotel then I will out of respect/shame, but for just me, no way.
I'm lazy and I still live with my parents. My prospects for having anyone other than them barge into my room is effectively nil. EDIT: I'm 30 y/o
Nah, that feels like way too much work, for some reason. Though I try to keep things clean. For a time, my bed looked and felt like the one from Disco Elysium.
Nope. I don not even like well made beds where it gets to tight like the say hotels do them. First thing I do is pull at all the bedding till its a nice comfortable mess.
Yes, always. Duvet either fully stretched, or folded in half to let the bed freshen up when it's been a warm night. Why ? Because it takes 10 seconds and could well be the only satisfying thing I'll do that day.
I have heard that 30 minutes to an hour is enough to have the blankets turned down, to prevent dust gathering under the sheets. I don’t really know but I stick to that. I roll the sheets down when I get up and make the bed just before I leave.
I definitely see the logic
I leave the comforter and top sheet pulled back for a couple hours so the mattress can air out, and I pull them up and straighten them out later.
Absolutely! I have two cats, and I don’t want their poo paws on the inner sheets.
Plus, my partner and I hang out on the bed often.
My wife would be pissed if I made the bed at 5 when I leave and she still has almost 2 hours to sleep
I used to not care, but since having animals and noticing just how much dust and hair accumulates on other surfaces I've started pulling at least the sheets back up to cover the bed and prevent the direct sleeping surface from getting as dirty. I also brush my feet off before climbing into bed and we have a "shoes off at the door" rule to keep from tracking too much dirt into the house.
No.
Explanation: Do you have any idea how tight my schedule in the morning is?
Wake up.
1 minute to start brain just enough for basic motor skills to work.
1 minute to check phone if we found aliens, are in a world war or are in a world war with aliens.
5 minutes to jump out of bed, brush teeth, wear pants.
3 minutes to leave house and reach car.
So if I, for whatever reason, try to make my bed in the morning, I either sleep less or come to work late. Both of which are unacceptable. I leave “making the bed in the morning” to the people who think we think of them being overachievers, but in reality we think of them being asscrumbs.
I do, it only takes a few seconds, and slipping into a well made bed is very satisfying. It also feels cooler (temp wise) than an unmade bed, but that may just be in my head
Yep, after breakfast I make the bed. I really need things to be tidy. Plus when it's time to go to bed, I think it's nicer to get into a bed that has been made because the sheets are nice and neat and the pillows are fluffed, rather than bunched up sheets or deflated pillows.
No. I just use the same one everyday.
I pull the duvet right back so the mattress can air out. Sometimes I make the bed properly after a few hours, sometimes I don't.
No. I make my bed in the afternoon, after I finally get out of it. I just feel really good about my space when my bed is neat and pretty.
Never. I'm gonna get in it that night so I don't see the point
I just have to pull a duvet up and looking at a mess all day is depressing.
I'm not looking at it
How often are you all walking through your room on a given day? I'm only in the bedroom to sleep. Otherwise the rest of the house is used.
Maybe if it was a studio apartment or something, but that's not going to be most people.
I live in my room. It is big enough for a queen size bed, rocking chair, coffee table holding bed time tv, behind the tv are my 2 desks. GF took the other large room for her computer space, kid has her own room as well. So yeah, from when I get home til I go to sleep I am in there. I cannot see my bed side from my desk due to a huge tv. My room is basically 2 rooms in one
I fall in that tiny apartment gang. Not quite a studio, but I have way too much stuff for the space (I used to live somewhere much larger), so my bedroom has a lot of stuff in it that I interact with on a daily basis, like all my tools, my hobby workbench, main storage closet, etc. I spend a lot of time in my bedroom not sleeping.
I don't make my bed because I'm lazy and it doesn't bother me to see it untidy lol
I really wish I had more space, I would love my bedroom to just be for sleep.
Nope. By making your bed you actually increase the amount of mites living in it.
I do, but it takes just 2-3 seconds: I spread the blanket evenly on the whole surface of the bed. That's it.
Reason? Sometimes I lay on the bed during the day and it isn't comfortable with the blanket being wrinkled chaotically.
Only if there are visitors because that's the general tidiness expectation. Generally no because I don't see any usefulness and I hate sisyphean tasks. Also, my mattress probably airs a bit better if it's not fully covered.
No, my partner sleeps later than I do.
I make my half, she fixes the rest. Unless neither of us do it
I hang my sheets to air out
I do because my partner likes having the bed made.
Yes, it makes it cozier when I return to it in the evening
Plus if I don’t my cat will sit on my pillows.
No. If I do, the cats will inevitably unmake it playing and making little nest spots with the blankets.
If I don't my doggo will invariably sleep on my pillow
no :( i guess im a bad person woke up late, need to rush to work
so i make my bed, when i back from work,
Nope, I'm too out of it at that point
