Maybe my cats are weird, but I've never really had the 2 am zoomie issue. One spends most of the night by my feet. I don't know what the other two usually do, but if I get up to use the bathroom, I'll often see them lounging in the hallway, like they're holding a meeting.

2am

kak kak karrrph karrpugh kak kak kak kaaaaak kbbblorp

Hairball puke pile under my bed.

I mean there's already one there, but i can at least get to it.

[-] Bluewing@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

No absolutely not!

The little orange Zip is already dragging socks under the bed to fight. I would never be able to get them back

[-] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 49 points 1 day ago

ahh welcome to the nightmare in cleaning street

[-] LastWish@lemmy.world 153 points 1 day ago

But how hard is it to clean the inevitable fur and hairball puke?

[-] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 134 points 1 day ago

Exactly this.

I had the bed in OPs meme and it was great at first! My cats loved it, they zoomed through day and night. Then one day I noticed only one of the cats would enter at a time and only while I wasn't looking. Eventually I found out one of our cats was holding politically extreme meetings under the bed which eventually resulted in an attempted coup d'etat.

Anyways, great bed. My cats run my house now and I get to sleep under the bed in a cool maze!

how did you come up with this on the spot? Psychedelics? (Serious question)

[-] Lupus@feddit.org 19 points 1 day ago

Some people just have silly minds. I tirelessly endeavor to be more like them.

[-] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 5 points 1 day ago

I was pooping and I had a free minute to practice comedy!

[-] billwashere@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

After having pets for the last 30 years this was my first thought... oh great, another place for them to leave me "presents" (like poop, vomit, dead mice, etc)

[-] relianceschool@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago

Seems like you'd just lift up the mattress like they did for this picture.

[-] errer@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago

Lifting out a mattress to clean is a huge pain in the ass

[-] cynar@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Some beds have storage underneath. They have a lift mechanism that lifts the whole mattress. If you used one of those as a base, then cleaning gets a lot easier.

[-] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

Woah Woah

You do not need pets to vacuum out under your bed

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I don't need to lift my mattress to vacuum under the bed either

[-] dingus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Why would I vacuum under my bed? That's where I shove items when I pretend like I'm cleaning the house.

[-] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

Of course you don't need pets for that. You just need a vacuum.

[-] TipsyMcGee@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 day ago

I was just wondering what kind of billionaire mansion people would have to live in to not use the space under their bed for storage

[-] asteriskeverything@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Good luck if your cat shits under the bed

the cats are gonna take up the whole bed and then you'll be forced to sleep in the maze

[-] winkly@lemmy.world 34 points 1 day ago

Great place to store small dead animals

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

My dumbass cats would get lost down there and we'd have to let them out twice a night

[-] aeternum 7 points 1 day ago

Is there a /c/zoomies yet? This would provide the community with content for years

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah, that’s what you need to hear at 2 AM.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 33 points 1 day ago

Try to give them medicine once and you'll be lifting the box spring and mattress off late at night! I guarantee it...

[-] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Before attempting such things (with or without this crazy setup), it is best to block all escapes/hiding spots, like closing a door to a room with these risks.

[-] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

More like: Cats at 3AM all over your face.

[-] bear 28 points 1 day ago

Do you want a spider empire? Because this is how you get a spider empire.

[-] SW42@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago

Not if the cat overlords roam the labyrinth. If it moves its free game :)

[-] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

"hackhackhackhack"....Oh shit!

[-] SW42@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

This is the stupidest idea I’ve ever seen - I love it!

[-] lapislazuli@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

And neither of yous will be getting any sleep. 🙃

[-] Strider@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

Taking apart the bed at night because they brought a mouse there.

Nice.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

One of our cats would go in and we would never see her again...

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

And its not too dark for them in the interior?

[-] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

You don't have cats, do you? Lol

[-] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

I do. They don't go into the donut because it's too dark, i have to cut a hole at the back so they would go in. Bunch of pussy i say.

That's cats regardless of bed trappings

[-] SonOfAntenora@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Cats do that regardless or do you think they're stand still.
