So if I stop my car next to a gas pump, shut it off, and get out, have I not just parked my car? If I intentionally drove to the gas station to get gas, is that not my destination?

The photo doesn't look like a charging station yet we can clearly see OPs car plugged into one of the two charging stations visible in the photo. What else could be included to signify that its a charging station?

More and more I keep seeing businesses plopping down chargers right outside the front door, and marking previously open parking spots as “EV parking only”, giving them special privileges even if they’re not charging.

I can't say I've ever seen this outside of spots with chargers attached. It sounds like you're upset that you dont get a special designated spot at the front of every store. I know it can be tough to have to walk and extra 50 feet, but I think you'll live.

These are the same people demanding that China be allowed to cripple our automotive market by releasing heavily subsidized vehicles built with slave labor and shipped halfway across the planet on ships burning bunker oil so that they can buy a brand new car for dirt cheap. They don't really care about the environment, they care about consumerism and getting something brand new and only bring up the environment as a facade to make their desires seem less ghoulish.

They even pretend that we're all doomed unless everyone gets a brand new car that happens to run on batteries despite all the pollution that would be generated from scrapping all of our currently functioning ICE vehicles.

What would you call spaces next to a gas pump where people park their car?

This makes so much more sense now.

I have a hard time believing it was "wrong place, wrong time" when they broke into his house to murder him.

I haven't but I was shocked at how well he did after years of being Hulk.

Only on paper. In reality, the authors of the bill wrote that Trump and Bondi get to decide what to release and can withhold as much of the documents as they want under the guise of "national security." It was just more kayfabe.

I just finished Task with Mark Ruffalo and it was incredible. I actually teared up at several parts and thought Ruffalo killed it in the role.

I found out that her pension is only $8k a year and she can't start collecting it for another decade. When she resigned, everyone was talking about how it was planned since she'd now receive a pension, but the payment amount is peanuts.

On the QAA podcast, they outlined that they think she quit because Trump was going to fund her primary challenger in 2026, Republicans are going to lose big in 2026, and if she won her seat, that'd put her in a position where she has to defend Trump as the minority party just after he paid millions of dollars trying to have her defeated.

Those are all physical devices though. I agree platform exclusives aren't good for anyone but the companies but it does seem like most are moving away from that model with these newer generation consoles.

I don't think its necessarily the prices that are the issue but what you're getting for it. Games have historically not kept up with inflation and still cost less than what we were paying for SNES carts in the 90s, but now they're the 15th sequel of some franchise and are only half finished so there isn't much draw for customers.

To remove everything else like dirt and grease. I use it almost like an all purpose cleaner when working in the garage

Camera card setup (sh.itjust.works)

I've got several Amcrest cameras connected through Frigate (running standalone) to HA but I'm not sure how to properly setup the camera card so that the 'thumbnail' shown on the dashboard cards refreshes every so often.

Previously I had them connected directly to HA via the Dahua integration and set the camera streams as both the thumbnail image and as what's displayed when you click the card and this all worked fairly well (the thumbnail would refresh every few minutes) but now after switching to Frigate, the thumbnails have remained static since the day it was initially set up and never refresh and I'm not sure how to fix this.

The cameras are all PoE and connected to an Amcrest NVR which does the main recording while Frigate just sees the substream and uses it for object detection and remote viewing through HA. Clicking the camera cards allows me to view the stream but for whatever reason the thumbnails never refresh.

Comments not showing? (sh.itjust.works)

I'm migrating from lemm.ee and just created an account here but for some reason I'm seeing only a handful to zero comments on sh.itjust.works posts even when they show hundreds of comments.

I'm vaguely familiar with similar federation issues where you might not see old comments if you're the first person to subscribe to a community on a different instance, but I don't understand why I can't see comments on posts from what is now my native instance.

Can anyone clarify what's going on?
