So ... we're done with consequences for everyone then?

[-] Vreyan31@reddthat.com 16 points 2 days ago

Oh no. Ohhhh no.

It's simply what consequences are dished out for.

This is mob rule government. If you are part of the 'gang', and are loyal to the gang, you can get away with murder. Or raping children.

Everyone else is under the bootheel though.

[-] Deflated0ne@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

Consequences? Accountability? For the rich?

Surely you jest.

[-] SippyCup@feddit.nl 15 points 2 days ago

A frightening number of sex offenders get work release. About half the work release guys I work with are sex offenders. The other half are drug convictions.

The drug conviction guys are generally happy to tell you what they got sent to prison for, sometimes with some mild embarrassment or remorse. A worrying number of the sex offenders will tell you inadvertantly when they're bitching about the people they victimized making obtaining parole difficult. No remorse at all.

[-] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago

Everyone? Ha ha, no! Democrats and the poors will be persecuted more than ever.

[-] Pavidus@lemmy.world 324 points 3 days ago

Work release, huh? Is she going back to the field of work she was in prior to jail?

[-] ApeNo1@lemmy.world 136 points 2 days ago

Trump is looking forward to the bring your child to work day.

The headline is "Trump to host pedo party at White House"

Place your bets: will we see it in nottheonion or theonion first?

Trump needs a good underage masseuse that looks like his daughter when she was 15.

I really don't think that Trump giving a human trafficker special treatment to say that he isn't a pedophile is gonna play out as well with his base as he thinks it will.

[-] markovs_gun@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think you are vastly overestimating his base. They are looking for convenient excuses not logic or evidence. As long as there is a convenient excuse to trot out, Trump is still God Incarnate and the delusions continue. Someone looking for the truth won't be swayed by the obviously bribed testimony of someone who has repeatedly lied under oath, but these people aren't looking for the truth- they already have it in whatever Trump is saying that day. They just need something to point to and say "See? She says he wasn't involved so he wasn't involved! You liberals are just making things up to hurt Trump again!" This is a world where evidence isn't what matters, it's quips. As long as there's a quip to shut down any disagreement the fantasy that Trump is a saintly hero of democracy can continue.

You think americans are gonna catch on anytime soon?

[-] pjwestin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Depends what you mean by, "catch on." Are they going to understand that their quality of life is declining because late stage capitalism is extracting what little wealth they have left, and that neither the neoliberal center-left offering milquetoast concessions from ruling class or the far-right fascists scapegoating immigrants and minorities can fix the fundamental, underlying rot within our society? No, probably not. But I think some of the MAGA chuds might figure out Trump is a pedophile.

[-] Neon_Shadow@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

They won't care. They have no morals or hard lines. They'll support whatever dear leader tells them to. There will be a few days of fake outrage, and then they will stop caring.

[-] pjwestin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

We'll see. He spent the last 6 years stirring up this Santanic-panic pedophile shit, I don't think it's going to be that easy to put down. Besides that, he's about to throw us into a massive recession with huge inflation. I've never been one of those, "Trump is finished! There's no way he's coming back from this!" guys, but this really seems like a perfect storm of events that will hurt his most loyal followers.

Trump allowing CHILD SEX TRAFFICKER GHISLAINE MAXWELL to go out on Work Release is PROOF that Trump is doing EVERYTHING he can to Bring Child Rapists to Justice!

[-] Uli@sopuli.xyz 38 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

What world do we live in?

To recap, Trump and Epstein were friends while Epstein was selling child sex to rich people. Trump is implicated in a plethora of ways, including that creepy ass birthday card and Epstein having Trump's name circled in his little black book, alongside everyone else who has been confirmed to have involvement in the sex ring.

Meanwhile, Trump is hosting teen beauty pageants in Russia where he peeped on underage girls changing and later bragged about it. And of course, we know Trump started to sour on Epstein when Epstein "stole" an underage masseuse from Mar a Lago to turn her into a prostitute. And Trump knew this but was more upset about the stealing part than the underage prostitution part.

And Epstein soured on Trump when he told Trump he was buying a mansion in Florida and Trump outbid him using money provided by a Russian oligarch for... reasons. And Epstein threatens to out Trump for his Russia connection, so Trump then drops the dime on Epstein and gets him arrested for soliciting prostitution from a minor. But Epstein "somehow" gets a sweetheart deal where he only serves 13 months in jail and is allowed out during the day on... what was that phrase? Oh yeah.

Work release.

Good thing Epstein got that deal from... Alex Acosta? Why does that name seem familiar? Oh yeah, because when Trump became president, he randomly appointed Alex Acosta to be Labor Secretary, for... reasons.

Similar to how after Trump sent Pam Bondi's re-election campaign for Florida attorney general $25,000 just randomly right around the time her office decided not to investigate Trump University for fraud. And now, Trump has appointed Pam Bondi as attorney general of the United States because... I'm sure there must be a good reason.

And now of course, after Ghislaine Maxwell met with Trump's deputy attorney general Todd Blanche, she's moved to low security, and she's going to be allowed out on... huh. Work release. Well, isn't that an odd turn of events?

How does the general public so severely lack the critical thinking skills to put this together? For the record, that question is rhetorical. I know the answer. I'm just sad about it.

A pardon would be too obvious, and would take her off the leash. Much safer to transfer her to a cushy Club Fed prison and give her work release. That way, if she steps out of line she has a lot to lose.

What work does she do worth releasing her from prison? Sourcing unfortunate children for old pedophiles?

[-] Deathgl0be@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

Disgusting why are we not storming the capital it’s perfectly legal to do so and to allow sex trafficking and Pedophile behavior. This is a disgusting reflection on entire human race and I’m sick of these bastards.

[-] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 58 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

So, as punishment for her crimes of taking part in the act of and enabling the monetary gains to rich elites from the rape, sex trafficking, and kidnapping of literal children they gave her a promotion. Let’s see how round three turns out, folks, better hide your daughters! Really, though, hide your daughters.

Fuck this country. Somebody shoot that piece of shit in the face. I don’t have a gun or the means to get to her, but someone has to be within at least brickin’ distance. If that’s you, all I’m asking is to pick up a rock and at least think about it.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Work release for a sub-human pedophile ring leader? The USA is one sick fucked up country.

[-] 0ndead@infosec.pub 41 points 3 days ago
