I already do use Signal with friends that have it, and I plan to stop using whatsapp for chatting with the other ones, if the entire Ad thing happens. But there just are groups, that I cant imagine will make the switch, and sadly I need those :/

Yeah, I'm pretty sure edits take a lot longer to federate, it's still wonky on my end. Federation is still better!
