Office space started me thinking about early retirement plans.
Yep that movie is depressing, especially that traffic scene, I go through that every day. Even the changing lanes part, too relatable.
I used to as well. Glad I can commute by train now.
I couldn't even finish that movie and had to stop after about 30 min (not because it was bad, but just way too depressing lol)
That kind of sounds like a reason to go back and finish it
I honestly get where they were coming from. My "I couldn't finish it because it made me too sad" was oyasumi punpun
I only finished the second of 13 total volumes and I wasn't tearing up or anything, but I developed a sense of... dysphoric dread, I guess, from reading it
I mean I don't really want to spend my free time feeling like absolute shit because I chose to watch a movie
I hated just about everyone in The Whale. Everyone who was enabling him was an accomplice to a murder, in my opinion. I also found the main character to be so revolting that I couldn’t muster much sympathy beyond my aforementioned blame towards his enablers.
I love challenging media, but that one had nearly nothing redeemable about it. I’d rather have a crack problem than a food problem after seeing that movie.
Had the same thing happen to me with the movie Hereditary (although I later finished watching it, because of the praise it was getting). I thought "Yeah it's good, but why would people watch this, why would they do this to themselves?".
I never understood miseryporn and honestly MFW people are enjoying it:
Midsommar left me depressed for about a week, so I emotionally detached myself while watching Hereditary by playing on my phone lol. I totally skipped Beau is Afraid.
I'm gonna spoil something but literally at the end of Beau is Afraid, the audience just disconnects and leaves uncaringly at his misery.
Like that movie is a layer of meta meta meta commentary about the people watching his films and also the misery of existence itself. It's not good but it's definitely art.
Oof, not the best movies to watch after another.
That was also a movie I wanted to see, but after Hereditary I thought "nah, I'm good". Probably won't watch another Ari Aster film, ever.
I often eat my dinner while watching a movie.
This is not a movie I'd recommend for that.
But if I lose weight all the people who called me a retarded fatass my entire childhood win.
But have you avoided getting smarter too? If not, then they've already won.
Welcome to tthe NHK made me try to be more social. I'm still pretty anxious but it's slowly getting y little better.
Note how anon states they weigh the same, but they feel healthier. Being healthy isn't about looking like a model, being healthy is about literally being healthy. You don't need to do crazy ass workouts, chug protein mixes, and gain muscle like a TV star on steroids. You just need to get enough cardio in your day (or throughout the week) from chill/fun activities (biking, swimming, dancing) and have a balanced diet to do your body right. Don't fucking starve yourself please, you look fine the way your are ♥️
Edit: Thought anon was at 220 and didn't lose weight, sorry y'all damn. Also there are fat people who are fat not because of moral failing and eating McDonald's all day, but because of serious health issues that are extremely hard to combat with dieting and exercise. RIP wanted to be positive.
Being grossly overweight is deletorious to your health. Cardio or exercise will not change this, because weight loss is mostly driven by diet.
Its both. Calorie in. Calorie out. Any calories not used will be stored for later. Keep consuming more than used, than more and more gets stored. The problem with modern diets is food is very enegry dense and a lot of people dont live active lives. Our bodies have not adapted to such lifestyles. Its adapted to survive until the next hunt not the next doordash delivery.
Our bodies are not bomb calorimeters. Calorie intake and expenditure are not independent variables. The human body is more than a simple linear equation. Please, stop propagating these myths.
I see what you were going for. ♥️
Hugs!
Even though you misread the comment as a fat fuck, I have to reply to you and say, fuck spreading whatever idea you are spreading.
Your comment reads like a delusional HAES cult members.
Being obese is objectively worse for your quality of life and your longevity, just because someone wants to better themselves doesn't mean they do it to look like a model.
Your comment is objectively wrong, putting on muscle is by far the best way to increase your health and longevity, not doing cardio.
If Anon is anything like me, my advice for next steps would be to start learning about metabolic health.
