I don't understand it either. It's like the people who commit these hate crimes are absolutely incapable of minding their own fucking business.
They are incapable of having a human mind in the first place..
It's a mistake to consider them monsters. They are human just like you and me, and that makes them all the more scary.
This hits so heavily. That people have such hate in their hearts to commit such atrocities.. I don't know what could cause someone to do this.
A stark and tragic reminder to arm yourself for safety, because your enemies are arming themselves for violence.
Joss used his last moments to push his partner out of harm's way. If he'd reached for his gun instead, maybe the bullets hit differently. But it wouldn't have stopped what happened.
If you feel safer then arm yourself. But there aren't that many situations where having a gun stops you being hurt. More commonly it escalates to violence faster, or just lets you hurt someone back.
Better to hurt a nazi back than let them walk away free.
Sure, I'm strongly in favor of hurting nazis, that's a perfectly reasonable goal of gun ownership. But that's very different from thinking that a gun increases your personal safety or prevents violence being done to you.

This also applies to other forms of authoritarianism and authoritarian or criminal actions by liberal or leftist governments.
NSFW threads, such as ones discussing erotic art, pornography and sex work, must be tagged as such.
