Just set up some filters and you will more peace. Some will still get through but it will not feel like a deluge.
But but but what if you're a dumb dumb like me and don't know where the filters are?
Well then you just see that content day in, day out and slowly sink into a pit of despair.
Use an app that allows blocking posts by keyword, like Voyager.
This is my list of keywords that keeps me sane while browsing lemmy:
I do the same. I still get a ton of posts like this don’t include any relevant key words and still are about musk or trump. It’s impossible to escape.
lemmy can now filter out entire political comms.
and most apps can filter out keywords. do at least "trump" and "musk" and you are good.
as a not-usian i keep it for the entertainment value of the crumbling empire though.
I browse by "Subscribed" and subscribe to communities that aren't politically focused. Here's a list:
