I dislike Harris but nobody gains anything of value arguing over who they think will be worse. It’s the most pointless argument made up just so entitled folks living in a hyper-individualized society can feel like they’re correct.
I can tell you one thing though: Harris didn’t have a Project 2025 teed up and ready to go. But also who fucking cares? We’re now all stuck in this boat so let’s quit the leftist infighting and pissing contest. They all benefit from the same thing and they’re all the enemy of the working class. There are people in my community I've had to talk down from committing suicide just yesterday due to the state our country is in because of policies that wouldn't be in place if Harris had won.
You're an idiot if you think Harris would have been worse for Palestine than Trump. The only knowledge I need is that my democracy won't be put at risk by fucking leftist tankies who don't have two braincells to rub together to differentiate between comparative outcomes.

I think you misunderstand where my “who cares” comment comes from. I care about the actual outcome (which is currently terrible as everyone predicted). I just think it’s a pointless thing to fight about. I don’t care about “both sides bad” crap. I care about what we’re going to do now that a fascist is here, and planning ahead for the worst.
The whole thing leading up to the election where people argued over who was worse was tiresome and divisive of people that should be aligned. Conservatives still voting for Trump are a lost cause but leftists have common ground and shouldn’t be wasting their time arguing over something that ultimately leads nowhere. They should be preparing for the worst case scenario as a unified front.
Fine let's provide that united front next time Democrats put out a candidate that doesn't check all the boxes. Even if it's Harris running again.
That’s how it should’ve been, even if for nothing other than the symbolism. She doesn’t support Palestine, but no one they prop up ever will. Best we can do is keep applying pressure. We also need to run on the assumption that federal elections are a joke in the US at this point, and the Democrats aren’t going to do anything outside of upholding the status quo. Regardless, abstaining is pointless and multiple things can be true at once.

I blocked the instance with Sync, yet I can still see their users comments on other threads. Is there any way to completely block it all? Other than moving instances I guess.
The only ways I know of:
- move to a PieFed instance - which is amazing and worth doing anyway, just check it out and you'll see why:-)
- the Lemmy apps Sync and Connect, which you are asking about so it should work for you? I haven't tried Sync directly through so I'm not sure exactly how to make it happen, only that people said that it should work
- after the above, it gets a LOT more difficult from here, like writing a custom Ublock Origin filter rule or some such
- start up your own whole entire instance and defederate from all three, then suffer whatever problems have caused all of the top major instances to not do that for Lemmy.ml
Lemmy does not make it easy, and worse: the "instance filter" doesn't do anything close to what it sounds like, it only functions as a "community muting". Maybe Sync can do multiple things along these lines - look for a way to "block all users from an instance", maybe start with a user from it and click around for an option with that language.
Good luck - it's definitely possible (I've done it myself - PieFed makes it trivially easy, though there aren't as many app options for it, just Interstellar in alpha stage, though Thunder support is being tested right now, but currently very limited to a normal user, i.e. it's a custom fork of the code not yet merged back into main).

Also don't you guys hate hexbear because they show posts which invites people to go brigade those posts and users?
Because they are long, spammy, all say the same thing (poorly formulated nonsense), but mostly because they are long and I wouldn't be able to capture a screencap of their brigading if I expanded them all.
Hexbear has communities specifically designed to organize brigading of threads. We create posts to mock them in private and don't engage in brigading.
