Not only is this not surprising, but this is a big reason why I think corps should not be welcomed at Pride. Corporations cannot be LGBTQ, they aren't actually people. They are faceless entities that exist to generate profit for their shareholders. They support us when it is convenient for them solely in the hope that it will generate them more profit.

My local Pride last year had a huge controversy where they kicked a lot of local vendors and companies out in favor of big corps. Considering those big corps immediately betrayed us, things will be changing for this year. I hope things stay changed moving forward.

I’m thrilled. I never once asked Target their opinion on my sexuality and was never thrilled at being used by them.

My freedom to live will never be protected by a for-profit company.

My first time at pride the only sponsors were gay bars, lube vendors, and the local MCC. It was better then.
