Speedrunning a permaban on my 15 year old account. How many days do you think it will take?

Banning accounts from just upvoting is insane.

[-] kaerypheur@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Please read the rules again so that you don't break them.

[-] henry1917@lemmy.world 25 points 7 hours ago

They ban u for upvoting? Not even commenting, but literally just upvoting?

[-] Uniquitous@lemmy.one 11 points 1 hour ago

That's why I finally pulled the plug on my 14 year old account. That Orwellian bullshit is a deal breaker.

[-] PaulBunyan@lemm.ee 4 points 1 hour ago

My 12 year old account got permanently suspended after an alt got a ban from r/entertainment for disagreeing with someone. Neither of us warranted a ban. Since I couldn’t block the sub from the news feed I accidentally commented again in the sub with my banned account not realizing the sub I was in. Then I commented with my main and got permanently banned. I appealed but didn’t get a response. This all happened over the course of a month or so and left an awful taste in my mouth.

Same here, my 3 year old account got permabanned since my new alt got banned from r/shitpost and I couldn't filter it out so I accidentally commented on my main and, well here I am...

HELL YES COMRADE, FIGHT THE POWER

fr though, this is such a badass way to get banned. don't even reply to them - just keep doing the thing, post, and watch as every pathetic attempt at intimidation gets hundreds of defiant upvotes here.

[-] GoodOleAmerika@lemmy.world 18 points 10 hours ago

I recommend u guys try Lemmy. I feel like Reddit is reaching its EOL

[-] biggerbogboy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 54 minutes ago

I've never heard of this platform! Where can I sign up?

[-] dadapop@lemmy.world 11 points 9 hours ago

reddit reached enshitification several years ago.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

2017 was more than several years ago

[-] PokerChips@programming.dev 2 points 1 hour ago

I would say that's about several years ago.

[-] dadapop@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

hey so i started looking at a new place because I'm tired of reddit and the people on it.... My upvotes began just disappearing. I hate to be that person, but I think I was shadowbanned. I didn't even know that was a real thing until reddit. When the little reddit guy's back is turned on your icon you're in some kind of restricted mode. Anyway, i noticed my upvotes weren't showing and someone else kinda fiddled with it with me to see what was going on. I don't know if this is related to luigi but it's some weird nonsense.

[-] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 9 points 10 hours ago
[-] Corno@lemm.ee 12 points 11 hours ago

Darn. I guess this means me making a Reddit account to confess that Luigi was my first videogame character crush ever is out of the question.

[-] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 11 points 13 hours ago

so would this work if I made a comment then edited it?

I'm thinking it would be fucking hilarious to go on conservative and get them to upvote it only to edit it to say something like, "Luigi is a hero!", then they just start banning all the bots and conservatives.

[-] Wilco@lemm.ee 3 points 10 hours ago

Be sure to delete your old content. They did the warning: 3 day suspension:perma-ban combo on me (all in one day), so I couldn't delete mine.

[-] brax@sh.itjust.works 12 points 14 hours ago

Fucking cowards sending out the messages from an account that you can't even reply to? Are they also sending out these messages to people upvoting /r/Conservative content? What about/r/Conspiracy?

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Fucking cowards sending out the messages from an account that you can’t even reply to?

Not even really cowardice when you consider how bare bones their staff is. Even if they gave a shit about users, real monetization costs money and Reddit hates spending.

[-] freely1333@reddthat.com 3 points 9 hours ago

most tech should be considered state media at this point. during covid i said something about omicron being more transmissible than the original variant even in vaccinated people (true statement) - perma banned with no warning. now if you don't immediately condemn "hate" towards nazis you are also banned/warned lol

[-] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Took less than 1 for me, but it was only a 10 year old account

[-] Sine_Fine_Belli@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

I got a 3 day temp ban on my account

[-] underfreyja@lemmy.world 9 points 17 hours ago

I overwrote all my comments with the following today :

Leopard Urinating In Geocached Inventory

I'm not petty at all 😅

[-] HalfSalesman@lemm.ee 31 points 1 day ago

Please let them implode.

I want Lemmy to have niche content. I'm tired of being a bitter asshole about politics and news on here. I want to gleefully distract myself while my country burns, not be ultra depressed about it because its constantly in my face.

[-] dadapop@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

yeah i always like the beginning of a new platform in the first few years where everyone is just having fun before the hoards come and commercialization happens.

[-] CarbonBasedNPU@lemm.ee 1 points 5 hours ago

Real big fan of being able to recognize people here.

[-] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

If you wanna do it fast, just speak ill of fascists. Worked for me.

Keep on the good job

[-] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Whatever their goal is, one result is apparent: less voicing of opposite views to the status quo on their website.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Less voicing of views, period. Reddit doesn't want user interaction. Only views. The bots generate the content while the users are there to generate ad revenue.

Don't get permabanned! Sell your precious account first ;) it will be used to spam on Reddit and you'll get some money, it's a win-win situation!

[-] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 9 hours ago

theres a forum where people will buy accts, but they wont buy one that is tainted or flagged though, they prefer new accts, or old accts with good standing. reddit will still catch them eventually though.

[-] ericatty@infosec.pub 15 points 1 day ago

Yes, please tell us where we need to not go to avoid accidentally selling our reddit accounts
