That's an album cover

[-] wildcardology@lemmy.world 122 points 10 months ago

Wow, they are really afraid of this guy.

What's the source for the obviously biased article about the twisted women? Takes me back to when they called protesters "thugs" during the Floyd protests.

[-] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago
[-] taiyang@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Oh, that 100% tracks from that rag. By comparison, a similar article from NPR was a lot more careful about it, e.g. "Mangione has received widespread public support, despite state and federal officials discouraging it." Good lesson in identifying bias.

NPR even had the message Luigi sent out thanking his supporters, which I think is nice.

Dunno if it's AI generated but the choice of expression sounds like how a lot of porn videos are titled, e.g. "Dangerous intimacy for this peculiar tart", the kinds of laughable titles a human wouldn't naturally come up with!

Agnifilo argues against this decision. He is a model prisoner

The way the clothes they wear are flying off the shelves, and Luigi's outstanding photogenic quality, you bet they're a model prisoner.

[-] imsufferableninja@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 months ago

did luigi come out as NB and i missed it? or why are you misgendering him?

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

In English "they" is neutral. It's also both singular and plural.

[-] imsufferableninja@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago

neutral gender is appropriate when the gender is unknown or for NB people. otherwise it is appropriate to use the known gender

[-] Soulg@ani.social 35 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

It's also perfectly appropriate to say they. It's not gendered

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Thanks. I couldn't figure out how to say that without sounding like an asshole. You managed it flawlessly.

[-] comfy@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

I don't know Luigi's gender for certain, nor is it relevant to my statement. Neutrality is appropriate.

Furthermore, I personally disapprove of gendered language in general. It's pointless. I can't think of one reason to keep that archaic tradition.

[-] Soulg@ani.social 7 points 10 months ago

Wtf are you talking about

[-] Toribor@corndog.social 18 points 10 months ago

The way they've handled him you'd think they were hauling the Joker in and out of court or something.

[-] Maeve@midwest.social 13 points 10 months ago

I don't think so. It's all a show, for us to be afraid of our consequences, rather than reflecting on institutions and systems, and the consequences of those collective actions.

[-] nomy@lemmy.zip 4 points 10 months ago

So our options are becoming:

Toil for 70 years until you're forced to liquidate everything you have to move into a shitty retirement home or become a burden on any children you may've had.

Drop out of society and refuse to cooperate, facing all the consequences that entails.

Complete a single task that promises 3 meals per day, climate controlled shelter, basic healthcare and the adoration of fans across the country?

Seems like they're making the choice easy for a lot of people.

[-] Maeve@midwest.social 1 points 10 months ago

We have choices, and they are hard choices. Idk unless the Republicans are right https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cV1USdkPQ5w

[-] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 102 points 10 months ago

Dude just cannot take a bad picture.

[-] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 98 points 10 months ago

What are they worried about, there a lot of CEOs in the courtroom?

[-] morrowind@lemmy.ml 88 points 10 months ago

I didn't know how, but he's managed to make even this look classy

Feet Pics :3

[-] bss03@infosec.pub 44 points 10 months ago

Free feet on main!? That's no way to keep your adoring fans thirsty. ;)

[-] Blackmist@feddit.uk 22 points 10 months ago

Look, I'm down with his attitude to CEOs, but I just can't get on board with the "everyone must see my ankles" club. I'm out.

[-] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 16 points 10 months ago

I too am tired of thirst traps, no matter how sexy they are

[-] Alloi@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

damn his sexy ankles, making me......feel things

[-] MIDItheKID@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago

Why is nobody talking about how dirty that power strip is? And one of the plugs isn't all the way seated. That thing poses more danger than Luigi.

No socks though! My feet are feeling cold just looking at them!

[-] Monzcarro@feddit.uk 15 points 10 months ago

My dad (who is wearing near identical shoes as I write this) will tell you that you don't wear socks with these. I wouldn't call him an authority on style though.

[-] Krompus@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Yeah, it’s February (and cold in NY), where are the socks?!

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I’m guessing they swap out his prison issued shoes before court. And probably socks are difficult with the shackles.

[-] Ziglin@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I'm more concerned about how the shoes will rub against the skin, makes me shiver.

[-] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

That may be intentional. Try to run away and get severe blisters!

[-] cmbabul@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Socks are just sweaty feet prisons unless you’re wearing boots or something similar. I wear them like 5 times a year

[-] Ziglin@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Unless you go barefoot I'm afraid that puts you directly into the 1/2 CR monster category in my books.

[-] DJDarren@sopuli.xyz 7 points 10 months ago

Them treads are fresh.

[-] Zacsau@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago

Is this standard practice in New York?

[-] rockettaco37@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Nope. But right now our state is being occupied by Nazis....
