As Twin Cities Pride continues to fill the financial gap left by uninviting Target from its 2025 events, six Twin Cities co-ops are stepping up.

The co-ops — Eastside, Lakewinds, Mississippi Market, Seward, Valley Natural, and Wedge — have pledged a $28,700 donation to the Twin Cities Pride safety fund.

The co-ops announced the donation on social media, and confirmed to Bring Me The News that they'll be delivering the donation this week.

"As community-owned cooperative grocers, we've always been spaces where every member of our vibrant neighborhoods can find a sense of belonging, friendship, safety, and, of course, delicious local food," the co-ops wrote in a statement.

Support your local co-ops! Glad to see they were able to step in and help.

Target c-suite can generally go eat a urinal cake. Not that I ever really shopped there anyway but after they caved to bigots they went up there with freddies/kroger and amazon on my shit list.

Also sorry for the rant in advance: I wish small grocers were more fairly prioritized in general. Here in Portland we do have a few and I'm lucky enough to be kind of near one, but some areas are completely out of luck. Even the ones we do have tend to cut a fine line on prices due to how crazy jacked up properly values and rents are. Trash single fam and large business zoning rules are really blocking a lot of progress.

Makes my heart glad to see people calling them out.

I canceled my Red Card and disabled my online account with them today, and told them exactly why. Got a ski trip coming up and when I get back I'm headed to Costco to sign up, even though I live alone. I just hope they hold the line because I'm running out of places to shop!

I love Mississippi Market. A great place and I feel good about their donation systems. More expensive for some things but totally worth it overall
